Limited Edition of 100, approximately 14 3/8" tall x 9" wide x 8" deep. She is standing on the edge of the cliff, grabbing the star. The star represents cherished dreams and goals. The cliff represents all those fears and doubts about pursuing those dreams - the fear of failing or maybe the fear of success. I wanted to capture the tension of standing on that edge and the struggle within of pursuing a dream. If she keeps her focus on the star and not look down at all the fears, she can have her dream.

Deidre Daugherty studied fine arts at the University of New Mexico. When she moved to California, she received her degree in graphic arts and studied at the Pasadena School of Design. With her graphics career, she worked with ad agencies and marketing firms to create logos, illustrations and various public relations materials for clients including Kawasaki, Proctor and Gamble and the American Heart Association. Below are a few of her shows and awards. 1997 New York International Independent Film Festival.
Brigit

Limited Edition of 150, approximately 6 1/2" tall x 6" wide x 3" deep. Brigit is named after an ancient Celtic Goddess. Her pose is one of openness and vulnerability, yet, she reflects the strength and courage it takes to be that open and vulnerable. " 'Turning it over', 'Letting go and letting God', 'surrender', all seem to describe her pose - that connection between the spiritual and physical. Weight approximately 5 pounds.
Bronze Sculptures

There are many steps to get a sculpture into bronze. A mold is made of the original. Wax is cast into the mold to get a hollow wax sculpture. This wax sculpture is cleaned up and coated with investment. When the investment hardens, it is put into an oven to burn out the wax (this is the lost wax method). Once the wax is removed, molten metal is poured into the investment and fills the space the wax occupied. After it cools, the investment is removed from the metal. WOMAN IN THE MOON.
