What is the technological basis of the mbo? The mbo is built on the "Resource Description Framework" (RDF), which is a technology to describe semantic data. With RDF you can assign URIs to define objects, e.g. an artist, an album or a royalty statement. And you can define relations between those objects, e.g. an "artist" "created" an "album". The current version of the MBO in Turtle-Format can be found at Github. Tools for the MBO. Here are some examples for tools that use the MBO format. To try them, simply download the zip file under download. And unzip the contained files to your hard drive. To run the program, doubleclick the file exe-file with the tool name. Make sure, that the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 is installed on your machine. If not, you can download it here. For each tool there is a short documentation. Import Music Brainz Data.

Basically, the MBO defines a schema that you can use to store your data. There are objects. That decribe the relationship between those objects. In the picture below you find a rough overview. About the main concepts of the MBO. The oval shapes are the objects, the arrows the predicates connecting the objects. Please note, that in the future more concepts will be added. For what can you use the mbo? 1) Storing your data. 2) Exchanging your data. 3) Combine the data with other existing data.
