This should really be called the Not-So-Daily-Dwell but it doesn't sound as catchy (and catchy is where it's at! Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Then today, I was on campus and saw one of my all-time favorite professors walking across the parking lot. I watched him walk with the gait of an older man, and thought "this man has so much wisdom and life under his belt", and again I felt myself thinking about how great it will be when I hit 80. Once in Whittier, Matt and I hopped on the boat with four other patrons and proceeded on a three hour jetboat ride up (down? Now the upside of this story is that you could pay a pretty penny to go and do all kinds of stuff in Alaska but nothing - and I mean. And so, the final word is, if you are able to make it to Whittier be sur...

It's hotter than Hades outside, which is a little odd for Alaska, and a lotta icky for me. I live in Alaska for many reasons, one of which is that it is cooler than most places. But today, whew! So that's it. Some pretty stellar wisdom coming out of my brain right now, huh? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Http:/ www.artfulwater.com. Http:/ www.zeroanthropology.net.

This should really be called the Not-So-Daily-Dwell but it doesn't sound as catchy (and catchy is where it's at! Sunday, August 26, 2007. What a terrible day. It is rare when I have one of those days that I say it would have been better to just stay in bed. Today was one of those days. So, before I get going on that I decided that, just to put the world in good order, I will start and end my post on happy notes. I am the odd man out when I say, with great enthusiasm, Summer has left Alaska! What a shame ...

This should really be called the Not-So-Daily-Dwell but it doesn't sound as catchy (and catchy is where it's at! Sunday, December 23, 2007. Happy Holidays from London! I'm stuck in London so close to Christmas and my thoughts are wandering to whether or not I'll actually make it home for Christmas and if not, how will it feel to spend it in London alone. When, the last time I was in Uganda, I ended up with Malaria. I love it there. Which was great. But I woke this morning to find dense fog, a severe ...

What on earth kind of Daily Dwell happens approximately every three weeks? Well, I guess the one that comes from Alaska! And that is my final excuse! Three weeks; how can so much and so little go on in such a time span? The weather in AK has been right up my alley - cloudy, rainy and hovering around 65 degrees. I love it. I was thinking today, as I was on the 8th hole o...

It is something else. (side note: once I figure out how to post pics I'll do so of that operation). A great thing about Alaska is that (this time of year) it stays light until about midnight and dusky past that. I found myself driving through the most incredibly gorgeous country, Blue Oyster Cult's.

This should really be called the Not-So-Daily-Dwell but it doesn't sound as catchy (and catchy is where it's at! Thursday, July 1, 2010. Cottonwood Snow in July. This time of year is crazy in Alaska. We have practically 24 hours of daylight, everything is green, and (at least around my neck of the woods) it snows cottonwood. The first year I was here I couldn't believe the sheer amount of the stuff. I looked out my window and for a split second my brain said snow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
