Couture and Chai: July 2015
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. I used to have no idea what people meant when they said that "everyone leaves the city" during the summer. Now having spent some time in NYC during all seasons, I have some sense of how quiet weekends are in the summer and how especially (and wonderfully) peaceful "the city" is on a holiday weekend in the summer. A long weekend packed with various events but not people or excessive restaurant waits allows for multiple outfit changes and festive treats. Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

Couture and Chai: December 2013
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 14, 2013. After gorging for several days in Bangkok, I finally made it to Jinghong, China - one of the few areas of China that is generally warm year round. Jinghong has very little to offer for the typical tourist but for me, that was just fine. The botanical gardens, foreign scenery, random peacocks that wandered up during breakfast at the hotel, and most importantly, my grandfather were enough for me. Sunday, December 8, 2013. Palm trees galore. Not quite like LA. Sorbet and ice cre...

Couture and Chai: Dans le Jardin
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2015/06/dans-le-jardin.html
Friday, June 5, 2015. I have to say that my appreciation for themed parties has grown over the years and the appreciation hit its height at one of my most tasteful friend's visionary french garden themed baby shower. Some highlights:. The colors and class. The sweet dessert spread. The even sweeter wishes for the baby. The rustic evergreen favors. And my personal favorite, the mother-to-be's shoes. An acceptable sweatshirt that you can wear for champagne cocktails at home and to an early dinner at a cozy bar (at least in SF where it is much more casual than LA).

Couture and Chai: July 2014
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 26, 2014. Ten years after first desperately wanting to relocate to NY, I have finally made the move, and after romanticizing Manhattan for so many years, exploring it from the perspective of a resident is magical. Living in Greenwich Village means I'm just a hop, skip and a jump away from Washington Square Park, which is steadily becoming one of my favorite parks with its focal water fountain, locals lounging, live talent, random quotes in chalk and beautiful flowers - from dawn to dusk.

Couture and Chai: May 2014
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 17, 2014. I have been toying with the idea of moving to Europe and while the chances of me actually doing it in the near future are slim, I don't know if I'm ready to let go of the dream. In the meantime, I'll just hold on to a few more highlights from London:. An afternoon at the actual local cafe with plenty of tea, Sheesha and a view of Gordon Ramsay's new London House in the back (with crafty cocktails and a charming lounge). A visit to the Saatchi Gallery. Friday, May 16, 2014. Which w...

Couture and Chai: Houston Heat
http://coutureandchai.blogspot.com/2015/06/houston-heat.html
Thursday, June 11, 2015. It's been 20 years since I hit H-town, and what I remember still remains - the suffocating heat. How do you combat it? You can't. But, what you can do is wear comfortable clothes, eat serious comfort food, hit the newly built Hermann Park, and visit the Menil Collection (including the Rothko chapel). Hermann Park in Alice and UO dress. Madewell denim jacket,. Vince white slip on shoes (similar here. And Louis Vuitton show bag. Jalapeno sausage for the win).
