Saturday, 17 September 2011. The calm before the storm. I have been going through quite a good patch recently. Just a little hip and knee pain. My ankle was feeling OK too until this afternoon when someone kicked it by accident .(Why is it whenever you have a sore foot, knee, arm etc. someone always knocks you in the place that hurts the most? Tuesday, 3 January 2012. I normally really hate the period immediately after Christmas. Spring always seems very far away and the weather is usually. It was exhilirating and scary at the same time. The beginning of December saw a significant landmark for me - my 50th Birthday! As you can see the hotel room was very grand, with four poster bed and views across bath to the Abbey. Sunday, 30 October 2011. Autumn in the New Forest. Yesterday OH and I took a drive through the New Forest. Gardens. It was a bright, dry day with a slight. Friday, 22 June 2012. This time I chose a square silver watch face. I then created a series of peyote stitch squares with open centres. I used my two favourite colours - blue and green. I then linked the squares together with green fire-polished crystal beads and finished the whole thing with a magnetic sterling silver clasp. Sunday, 5 August 2012. Time Off (Part One). I haven't been idle during my time off. The first few days was spent at home catching up with a few things and trying to relax. One of my goals was to finish a quilt. I made the quilt top several years ago. It was based on a pattern by Kaffe Fassett - Mossy Radiation from 'Quilt Road'. Sunday, 25 September 2011. This Saturday we went to the Creative Stitches. It was hot and a little crowded but it was much easier to get around and see everything. Last year I only saw about a quarter of the stalls at Ally Pally before having to give up in defeat. Sunday, 20 November 2011. This Friday M (aka 'A Girl in Winter') and I took part in a craft fair to raise money for Children in Need. For non-UK readers this is a huge national fundraising event, which this year has raised over £26 million for children's charities. The fair took place at work and proved to be a great success.
