Dans un bar à l’Anse à Beaufils, Percé. En juin dernier j’ai rencontré par hasard Richard Labbé, propriétaire d’un bateau de pêche à homard. Suite à notre conversation, le capitaine m’a invité à l’accompagner le lendemain sur son bateau afin de faire du dessin et de la photo. Départ du quai très tôt le matin. La pêche commence au printemps.

Elizabeth Oden has been creating art since a very young age. Pencil drawings on long rolls of paper were done to the delight of her mother and grandmother. The rolls would include small towns complete with farms, buildings, people, and lots of animals. Watercolor was the only medium available in those days as a box of Prang watercolors could be purchased for about twenty five cents. This paved the way for what is now the medium of her choice. Learned, her paintings have improved dramtatically.

Assure yourself that your dining company doesn’t mind. Once a week after our golf game, our group eats supper at a restaurant. My companions don’t seem to mind that I sketch quick portraits of some of them on the flip side of placemats. Of course, when dining on romantic evening at a restaurant I don’t practice this activity. Who or what to sketch.

I was invited to paint at the 2011 annual Lyric Theatre Singers’. Christmas Concert. I had a clear view of the performers and musicians because I was reserved a seat.
