Louisiana Belle: Favorite Things
http://louisianabelleforever.blogspot.com/p/favorite-things.html
Prepworks Fruit and Vegetable Keepers. I first tried the small container above just to see if it was going to work as it said. I washed and rinsed my strawberries right in the container and stored them. After one week, no mushy berries! It definitely keeps fruit and vegetables longer and in fresher condition than using regular storage methods, so I purchased two more. This is a wonderful product that lives up to its claims. Click here. To find it on Amazon. Origins Plantscription Eye Cream. And loved it ...

Louisiana Belle: Flipped!
http://louisianabelleforever.blogspot.com/2015/07/flipped.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. March 25, 2015 is a kayaking day I will not soon forget. It was a perfect day weather-wise, so I was pumped. After getting settled in my kayak, the first thing I spied were three juvenile alligators sunning on two different logs as I paddled toward my friend. No biggie. After that I didn't see too many more gators, but did hear and see Prothonotary Warblers, Yellow-throated Warblers, Northern Parulas, Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, Osprey (a new lifer! Louisiana Belle: Camera Gear
http://louisianabelleforever.blogspot.com/p/photography.html
Nature and macro photography are my passions. Being outside in the thick of God's creation is an indescribable thrill. Not much else gets me as jazzed as tromping through the swamps, woods, rivers, and lakes with my gear. :) I've been close to alligators, snakes, nutria, and all other manner of flora and fauna. When a camera is in my hands I feel invincible. I can also be found on. Canon 5D Mark II. All images courtesy of Amazon.com. These are the lenses that get the most use:. Canon 50mm f/1.8. How I LO...

Louisiana Belle: June 2015
http://louisianabelleforever.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. DCI stands for Dixon Correctional Institute, a medium-security prison facility located in Jackson, LA. You might recall from an earlier post that Jackson is where my friend and I opened up a flea market booth called Bayou Belles. Anyway, since Dixon is my last name, I wanted to get some photos of the place. For a prison, it's really pretty! Along the road are signs that say DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS. PRISON AREA. Nowhere are signs saying NO PHOTOGRAPHS. THIS BE A PRISON AREA.".

None of the events of our vacajun will be posted in order, but who cares? I have so many photos and I might get around to them before the end of the year and I might not. This was our adventure kayaking with my daughter, Autumn, and her fiance, Jason. First timers! Is this a Neotropic Cormorant? After a few minutes, already like a pro! Jason...

Louisiana Belle: Peaceful Paddle
http://louisianabelleforever.blogspot.com/2015/07/peaceful-paddle.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. Late one evening at the end of June, my friend Theresa and I, drove to my favorite place to kayak: Lake Martin. She was taking a lesson from Pack and Paddle, so I hitched a ride with her. Charming sign in the lake. Many people hate that the lake has become so touristy,. But it doesn't bother me. American Lotus or Yellow Lotus. Male Anhinga drying his wings. Juvenile Little Blue Heron eating grub worms from the lily pads. Posted by Gail Dixon. July 27, 2015 at 8:56 AM. Dit lijkt mij...

Monday, February 23, 2015. Hello friends, old and new! I am so appreciative of every person that has visited me since starting this blog in 2007. I'm sure some of you already noticed that I haven't been visiting and posting as much the last few months. Well, I am not quitting my blog and will still be making visits, just not daily. We have ...
