Tiny pieces of my days as an art teacher. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Last week was my f. Irst week back at school and I truly couldn't wait to get into my classroom! Over the summer, whenever I saw any kids, I had to hold back the urge to ask them to sit down with me to make an Art p. Because that wouldn't be weird or anything. Arted last year after the sch. To look like. Of course we. Need to talk about expectations and the rules of the Art room, but I also want to inspire. Enter edible color wheels.

Three OVER three: November 2010
http://marisajustin.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 18, 2010. I don't know why it took us. ME. All week to realize that the way to beat the heat during the first part of the month was to go to the beach. What a much needed break it was from the constant work that seems to happen all the time at out house! But the addition is almost done! The list is getting much shorter.however I keep finding more and more things to add to it before #4 arrives! I need to remember to make more time for things like this in my life. Monday, November 1, 2010.

Three OVER three: May 2010
http://marisajustin.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 2, 2010. Part 1 of San Diego Vacation. Time for the MONTHLY update. I can't believe that it is already May. Really where do the days go? Lately I have been sleeping a lot or least feeling like I want to but they can't have all passed me by that quickly, could they? I went to get pictures from this last month and realized they were all still on the camera. Now that I have them loaded I decided I wanted to make some scrapbook pages so may be later you'll get an insight into our past month.

pezzettino: Cut Paper Self-Portraits
http://pezzettinoart.blogspot.com/2011/01/cut-paper-self-portraits.html
Tiny pieces of my days as an art teacher. Monday, January 17, 2011. I don't know about you, but I. The other day, I was buying hummus and made my decision based not on flavor or brand, but on yes, the container! It was a beauty, my friends. it had three deep wells! Ok, I think you get the picture! So, my paper scrap box was overflowing and starting a nice little trail on the floor, as if it were trying to reach up to us to beg for it's use! Something had to be done and quick! pezzettino: Sunflower Paintings
http://pezzettinoart.blogspot.com/2011/01/sunflower-paintings.html
Tiny pieces of my days as an art teacher. Saturday, January 15, 2011. For this lesson, we studied Van Gogh's sunflower paintings and used them as inspiration for a painting using toilet paper rolls for our flowers. This technique of starting with the sides of the vase allows the kiddos to create more unique vases, and not copy mine! We then practiced Vincent Van Gogh brushstrokes in the air, so that we would feel those thick brushstrokes that show so much movement. I plan to teach VanGogh next fall, so I...

pezzettino: September 2010
http://pezzettinoart.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Tiny pieces of my days as an art teacher. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Off to my adorable first graders on completing their 3-D hats! When I saw this lesson. I knew it wasn't a choice- I HAD to do it! Last year, I did a paper roller coaster lesson along the same idea, but this is so much more fun! I wore my example hat as the kids walked in(their classroom teachers probably thought I was a mega-weirdo, but it was so worth it- the kids loved. As always, their pieces out-shined my example, hands down!
