ARTPOST - With Love from a Friendly Butcher

As the year 2014 enters, five supermoon dates are expected and the first will be on January 1, the first new moon of the month before another one on January 30 (Chinese New Year), making January 2014 the only month with TWO supermoons until January 2018. Here's to love, hope and magic against the apocalypse! Happy new year and best wishes. I also went back to school. I'm a grad student now at York University and it's free. Keeping my bases covered, I have to make sure I stay on point.

Bagatelle and Babble by Bob Black

A brevity from running slips and this muddy world:. October, you fearsome color,. The first of autumnal songs, twisting into the riveted dna of your story over Pork knuckle and German wine. The Alsace of your ferocious words that softened as the light dimmed over the German countryside. And tallowed in the corner with the Pre-war typewriters. The lederhosen and the chef's rye bread. That moment racing toward the sea, like the duvet spotted. By former occupants and lovers and the dampening weather.

Daybook

Man With Cloud Sample. A Stopgap Museum for Two Man Ray Pears. Unheard music- or half-heard music- being sweeter. Too much too soon. I found this drawing today. It's from 1998. A cloud with too much vivacity- Mayakovsky's A Cloud in Trousers. Part of a Recent Painting. A detail of a still life, with vesel and monumental plant stem. Red Still Life (flowers in a vase, fruit). It keeps everything moving. Left-hand cat and right-hand cat. Pinot and his brother Grigio. The old Pathetic Fallacy in India ink.

Sifting through the Rabble by Eric Farache

The Real Wonderful Rabble. You may have caught Jason Kieffer's graphic novel/guide to the rabble (read: homeless/marginal) people of downtown. If you haven't, it is a great book, you may recognize some people in it. Here is a link to that book. It was at once well received and also seen as exploiting the homeless it sought to familiarize the public with. Personally, I think the book was done from a very honest place, not exploitive. Jason is working on a new book now about Zanta. Cannot wait for that!
