I take art history and philosophy courses at Carleton University to energize my art practice. The image is a self-portrait I painted as part of my course on Aboriginal Self-portraiture. No I am not aboriginal, but in studying their self-portraiture I learned a lot about our First Peoples and myself. I also write my Mad About Travel blog.

Was inspired by the experience of life-long Kansas City residents, Joyce and Jack Hayhow. In August of 1977, the Hayhow's son, Brian, was born with a critical heart defect.
