Art with Mrs. Nguyen: May 2015
http://www.artwithmrsnguyen.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. The transition to Art with Ms. Nguyen. Okay so I know that technically I won't be Ms. Nguyen for another 9 days. BUT I wanted to go ahead and start making the changes to my blog so I won't have to think about it after the wedding (on my honeymoon). I debated whether I should change the name of my blog or not for a LONG time. I initially wanted to keep it Art with Ms. Gram because I felt like I've really built my brand under that name. Art with Mrs. Nguyen: December 2014
http://www.artwithmrsnguyen.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2014. Winter is probably my favorite season solely because I then have an excuse to do winter-themed projects - and this architecture lesson is no exception! I began by reading the book "Iggy Peck, Architect" by Andrea Beaty with my students and we discussed how Iggy had to work creatively to create structures with very unusual materials (pancakes, pies, shoes, dirty diapers {ewwww}, etc.). Then we discussed what features a home might have. On the fourth day I surprised my students b...

Art. Eat. Tie Dye. Repeat.: Things that Fly
http://aschukei.blogspot.com/2015/06/things-that-fly.html
Monday, June 8, 2015. 1st graders last projects of the school year were all about balance and symmetry. We started off by talking about the asymmetry of kites when it comes to the patterns and designs. The borders around our kites were just a combination of leftover scraps from the year- never let anything go to waste! You can tell the students who just threw on random colors and those that took the time to sort through all the colors to create a pattern. Share this post on: Facebook. Just Love your blog!
