art without a license: 2/15/09 - 2/22/09
http://artwithoutalicense.blogspot.com/2009_02_15_archive.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2009. I experienced the process of the transformation of an artist to be like this fire. Things are painful. They are stripped away. You're left raw and vulnerable but there is something real, new and elemental about what's left. It the essence of who you are. This wasn't something to grieve or bemoan, but a place to begin a. New, refreshed. Once I learned to re contextualize my experience, I could see the path in front of me more clearly. I could begin to grow again.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Palestine - Walking for Peace. I went to Palestine not knowing what to expect. And not particularly believing that peace could be achieved by the simple act of walking as proposed by William Ury. The founder of the Abraham's Path Initiative ( www.abrahamspath.org. On their exploratory walk of the West Bank of Palestine in late February. My job was to walk the path and document the journey through photographs. API's. What wisdom could I offer? art without a license: So Fair Trade or Fair Trader?
http://artwithoutalicense.blogspot.com/2009/10/so-fair-trade-or-fair-trader.html
Tuesday, October 20, 2009. So Fair Trade or Fair Trader? I've been working on a project investigating organic fair trade coffee, tracing the bean from the growers through the various intermediary steps terminating with the consumer. Its been a long and complex route with new facts learned at every step. With each bean of knowledge I gain the complexity grows. The question that kept arising was "What is Fair Trade and what does it really signify? Coined by Noam Chomsky, but profit working for people.

Friday, September 24, 2010. TransFair USA Eyes a Brand Makeover. Why? As I continue to investigate the workings of Fair Trade some interesting facts are coming to light. This explains the mumbled comments, and reluctance to say much or the sighs of perseverance I've encounter with those caught up in industries relying on these certifications. Matt at Just Coffee Cooperatives writes:. This situation has been developing slowly over many years, so we should ask: “why is it finally coming to a head now? Http:...

Friday, May 29, 2009. Coffee, Cinnamon, Paper and Orangutans, what do they all have in common? Reproduction over Production.is it only a dream? What does this mean? This is where a society produces only as much product, uses only as many resources as can be reproduced or renewed readily. Our current capitalist economic system has been borrowing from the future for centuries. We've cut down our old growth forests, sterilized our soil, polluted our oceans and air, all in the name of profit. Money. We can't...

ellen's pod* blog: web ambivalence
http://ellenspodblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/web-ambivalence.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2008. I've been struggling with my portfolio website for days now. It is finally up, but it is lacking much content. I tried using Flash templates, blog templates, and Flex to build it but could never get all the pieces to work together. So I resorted to basic html and css styling. I will keep working on it to make it worthy as a portfolio site. Here is the link: Random Patterned. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Subscribe to pod blog.

Thursday, October 23, 2008. I am still working on how to word it more concisely, but here is an in process version:. I was researching the meaning of the words doctrine, philosophy, method, etc. Check out what the word doctrine. Looks like on VisuWords. Its form is circular. Some of the branches are "ism" words. Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Ben Fry gave a speech at Auraria Campus last Thursday. It was a brief but interesting overview of Processing. I know the picture isn't great, but I was trying not to use the flash and I didn't have a tripod on hand. It is easy to see Ben is passionate about what he does, most my shots were even more blurry since he moves his hands when he speaks. Check out his projects. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Went on a class field trip yesterday to the MCA Denver. I guess I had a prior prejudice about Damien Hirst. Perhaps it was a bias about his commercial success. But upon viewing his work, I found I was mesmerized by how beautiful the "Saint Sebastian, Exquisite Pain" sculpture is. I'm still thinking about his pieces and the other artist's work. artwithnudity | Drawing & painting nudes my way
Drawing and painting nudes my way. Nude models in the woods. Life drawing art nude. It was april 2016 when two of my favorite models and I worked intensively during a unique private life drawing immersion weekend. I had rented a vacation house in the woods for a whole weekend, to sketch and draw them separately without any distractions. We agreed I was to draw everything, from the moment they arrived until they left. Would there be anything left to talk about after a while? On all fours in oil. Made me c...
