Coming to Winston-Salem in 1992, I found a nurturing community for art and AAWS, which encouraged artists through juried competitions and community exhibits. Currently I work primarily in watercolor/gouache. Moore Eye Center, Lexington, NC. Quantum Gallery, W-S, NC. Two Person Show @ W-S Chamber of Commerce. Wake Forest University School of Law. The Artist and Her Art
A visual artist and resident of the Harlem Community for over 20 years, I use vibrant colors in my paintings to depict the richness of my community. Several pieces depict children, families and the rhythm of the Jazz musicians. The memorable events of the Harlem Renaissance represent the rich genre of music, jazz, poetry, and the arts, which all inspire me. I believe the message of my paintings educate and reflect a rich heritage and culture of the Harlem Community, then and now.
