It has been on my bucket list for some time and now the bucket seems to be getting closer and my baby has turned 21 it seems to be the right time to do it. In search of self, wanderings and wonderings. May 25th Sunday Killiney. What bliss to sleep in. It’s Ellen’s birthday so breakfast was special. Rohan made pancakes especially and Callan made a carrot cake. Mary washed my warm clothes, jeans and polar fleece as I have been wearing them for more than a week. I was caught by the unseasonable cold weather in Santiago and the south of Spain. About 12 Mary, John and I went to see a beautiful waterfall. Then walked in the woods. Where we found some shamrocks.

I sort of walked with Roger, mostly with Cam, (American) who is walking for his daughter who died from a brain tumour and Brian. I’ve been going to bed at 8.30 most nights because I’m either tired or cold but I ended up going to the bar with Eve and Sam till 9.30. Woo hoo, a late night! I prepared really well ...

I had a lovely sleep in, then after a leisurely breakfast we went down to the yacht club to farewell some friends of theirs, leaving on a cruise to St Petersburg on a 55 foot yacht. We then went for a brisk walk on the pier looking up the bay to Dublin City. I think the top temperature was 13 degrees. I’m waiting for the weather to improve. With that every one in my queue joined in with pointing at rude man. One fellow even started to yell at him. In search of self, wanderings and wonderings. The plane arrived at 6 am. I got through passport control with my e passport very quickly and then Customs equally fast. Richard and Emily hadn’t even arrived. After arriving home I had some cornflakes and went to bed. Returning home, I slept for most of the day and am now awake.
