Once again we have reached the third Thursday of the month, AKA time for the latest edition of the ROY G BIV photo challenge. May's color is blue, so it seemed like a perfect chance to get to know my blue hydrangea better. For years I've been writing about. How I purchase one each spring, to place on the windowsill of our kitchen. But the current hydrangea in residence has also spent some time in the studio, where there's more light for photographing and space in which to explore and play a bit. On the n...

http://arzigogolare.blogspot.com/2015/03/elements-of-peace-part-iii-more-words.html

Elements of peace, Part III - More words. I've been wanting to share a few photos of my last visit to the. Giardino delle Rose, Florence's lovely hillside rose garden, where I added some more copper "peace" leaves to my favorite olive tree. (You may remember that I'd requested new words for my "Elements of peace" project last fall.photos of the "installation" can be seen here. The making of the leaves can be seen here. Here are photos of some of the latest additions, which include sustain, alegria. Itali...

Shades of Venetian Rose (Pink Part II). PS I haven't made it to see everyone else's PINK yet,. But am looking forward to this month's ROY G BIV tour.}. Now that we've gone through the whole rainbow, ROY G BIV photo challenge founding artists Jennifer Coyne. Have proposed we continue with some additional colors for the remaining months of the year. August's color is pink, and there are few pink things (maybe no pink things! I like better than a strawberry gelato. This one is from a gelateria. As I made my...

arzigogolare: January 2015

http://arzigogolare.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

As is true every January, the paperwhite bulbs are beginning to bloom. Witnessing tiny miracles like this always fills me with hope, something we could do with around here right now. Things are still very sad as I watch my daughter going through the most difficult period she has ever faced. Disbelief continues to be my overriding emotion, and acceptance seems far away. Besides hope, comfort is another thing you need in times like this. When I opened up Natalie Goldberg's Long Quiet Highway. And, for thos...

arzigogolare: Spring-green

http://arzigogolare.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring-green.html

An impromptu photo session with these cicorino verde. Now I'm curious to visit Florence's rose garden. To see if the roses there have started blooming.with the above-twenty (Celsius) temps we've had lately, I wouldn't be. Wishing you all happy surprises in your kitchens and gardens. A few details in case you are not familiar with the ROY G BIV. Photo challenge. Artists Jennifer Coyne Qudeen. This project a few years ago. Each month is devoted to a different color of the. Rainbow, and once we explore.

Saturday, 25 July 2015. I have been away from my blog for two calendar months - but not away from the studio. In fact I have been working quite hard on and off, getting ready for the big exhibition later this year. tracemarks: Artist Statement

http://trace-marks.blogspot.com/p/artist-statement.html

I love work that seizes me by the heart and makes me pay attention yet work that slips in slowly and surprisingly resonates equally. In my own art practice I am concerned more with the underlying cadence than mere artifice - I consciously let go of the formed image and allow the marks or imagination to take over. Thursday, 23 October 2014. What colour is green . It takes nature to bring this much colour into my blog . big gulps of fresh green after my busy couple of months leading up to the Open studio days which have been and gone. Two happy and successful days which made the effort worthwhile and so many interested people who have no idea about the practices of printmakers and book artists who were keen to ask questions and learn. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Orange Circles Fabric and More Giveaway News. Last night, I finally finished the Orange Circles giveaway fabric. For the last layer of printing, I flipped the milk top over and printed with the concentric ring design on the inside of the top. I really like the results.so simple.using just two "found" objects I had in my house- -a milk bottle top and a C battery. This is just one of many ideas I have in store for you in my book, Fabric Printing at Home. Posted by Thread Born.

Tuesday, 12 May 2015. A map of me and my place . Mapping 'my place' - the image is not as yellow as this, just really aged. I am feeling the need to include some of the pieces. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Belatedly . happy new year. There are many commitments lined up before I can begin work on the Noosa Exhibition which is later this year and the most pressing is three books for an exhibition of 8 book artists, 4 from South East Queensland and 4 from up around Cairns. The books will be exhibited in two venues - up north and in Brisbane. I like to think these look a little 'Anselm Kieferish'! So, not a very long or exciting post, but I was so determined to get in before this mont...
