このカンボジアに学校を贈る会の活動は、レンガひとつ分の協力をと言うスローガンに代表されるように、これを支えたのは会員及びドナーの皆様の草の根の運動で、子育てや家事に忙しい女性達が自分も社会に役立ちたいと気持ちを集めたことが活動の中心的エネルギーになりました。実際、車の通ることのできない、電気も水道もない、奥地の村の住人までが鉄塔を建てることだけで、携帯を所有することができ、さらにそれが次第にスマートフォンに代わっていく現在、非識字者と識字者との社会的な分断が、今後カンボジアのような発展途上国の間で深刻な問題を引き起こすだろうことが十分に予想されます。サイバー空間が、現実空間と同等の、いやそれ以上の重要性を持つ、現代の時代、そこから発展途上国の、とりわけ女性がそうした空間から排除され、社会の構成員から排除されるようなことは何としても避けたいというのがASACの活動の中心的な課題の一つであります。１１月２９日火曜日、皆様のご寄付によりトゥールベイン小学校の増設が完成し贈呈式を迎えることができました。メールの送り先 asac@asac.gr.jp.
