Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Boys vs. Girls. The kids have some of their best conversations while we’re driving in the car … I don’t often remember to mention them but there is a first time for everything! On our way to the library yesterday, Nicholas was playing with his Bionicles—they were battling, complete with menacing dialogue, when Paige says, “Nicholas, why can’t they just say, ‘Hi, you’re my friend! Let’s play together nicely! Nicholas and his battling Bionicles. Thursday, July 23, 2009. Wrong Brian ...

Saturday, May 19, 2012. Thursday was by far the best day at Disney, in my humble opinion! We started off the day by going to Animal Kingdom as soon as the park opened. We went straight back to Africa so we could go on the safari and catch the animals before it got too hot- turned out to be a good plan because we sure saw a lot! We saw hippos, rhinos, giraffes, elephants and lions . plus a few things that we had no idea what we were looking at! From Animal Kingdom, we headed back to the hotel to get ready...

It’s a funk …. THE SUMMER OF PATIENCE (among other things! March 30, 2014 · 7:49 pm. Over the past few weeks, something big has been happening for someone I was pretty close to a long time ago, and it has brought back a lot of memories of my 16-year-old self … some pretty embarrassing memories, actually. If you know me, you know I’m pretty emotional and have a hard time hiding my feelings–positive, negative or neutral. Imagine me. You may be thinking, “Geez Jenn, you were just 16 years old! But no, that&...

Sunday, May 17, 2009. I post this not because I think I have amazing decorating abilities, but to emphasize how much I LOVE BIRDS! But barely uses her left leg. Loving these creatures as much as I do, I just want to pick her up and nurse her back to health; however she just doesn't understand that I'm not going to eat her for dinner whenever I try to get near her. So, I throw her and her mallard pieces of bread and also, what else? Who is my handsome bird? Have I mentioned how much I love this guy? Sadly...

Sunday, March 21, 2010. Most parents have said it at least 100 times, and will say it at least 100 more, but, in this case it bears repeating:. Where has the time gone? It just doesn't feel like my sweet baby boy can be seven years old already. SEVEN! After we took Gavin home, the four of us went back to our house and Nicholas opened all his cards (we save them for the actual birthDAY so there is more to open) and gifts. I think I literally puffed up with pride as our boy read every single word of hi...

June 19, 2014 · 8:32 pm. THE SUMMER OF PATIENCE (among other things! I’ve been making a conscious effort to spend more time in the Word lately (see my New Year’s Resolution. Post: Grow Spiritually) and. Have been trying to read what I call Jesus books books that would be found in the Christian Living section at Barnes and Noble rather than JUST novels. A few months ago, when Brian and I were at Half Priced Books, I came upon a book by David Crowder called. Praise Habit: Finding God in Sunsets and Sushi.

Thursday, August 26, 2010. Nicholas' first baseball game! Sunday marked Nicholas' very first baseball game; he's in the Fishers S.P.O.R.T.S. program and plays with all 1st and 2nd graders. We've tried for several years now to get Nicholas interested in team sports- he has his father's hand-eye coordination and we have always thought he would be good. BUT! And that was the end of the discussion! I don't think basketball will be quite the same but this will at least ease us into it. Monday, August 23, 2010.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009. My Niece and Nephew. Allow me to digress from talking about my kids for just one post so I can talk about my brother's kids, Abby and Jon . with whom I'm comletely smitten! My sister-in-law, Anne, and the kids spent a few days with us at the end of May, and I just had SUCH a good time with with them! My niece and nephew are beautiful children, and I love seeing them grow and change- both physically and socially. Abby is a princess and she knows it. That's my girl! Speaking of pr...
