We stopped by to check on the Osprey nest at the corner of Clarke Road and Fanshawe Road in London this afternoon and I managed to capture this shot of the male, Clarke, as he was leaving the nest. Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Geoff and I have been keeping an eye on the Osprey nest at the corner of Clarke and Fanshawe Roads in London through the winter. The nest stayed solidly in place through all of the storms and we always thought ahead wistfully to spring when, we hoped, Lois and Clarke the nesting adults would return to raise more chicks. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. The view from here. There's a pair of Red-tailed Hawks in the neighbourhood around our office but, of late, we really haven't seen them much. Mostly what we've seen for weeks on end has been snow, more snow and crows, lots of them. Today we made up for the dry spell. We were quite please with the sighting and the amount of time he or she spent so close to the building. However, about 4:10 the cry of "there's the hawk again! Wednesday, March 18, 2015. We were headed for Opononi and Rawene but stopped by the entrance to the Tane Mahuta track in the Waipoua Forest to have our picnic lunch. (It was still pretty chilly in the shade in the forest.)
