Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Sea Day with Mickey and Co. Our first full day on the ship started out pretty fantastic! We had our "character breakfast" on the very first morning. Our Character breakfast was at the Parrot Cay, a tropical paradise themed dining room. (It looked like the Tiki Room, and I kept expecting the birds to break into song, but they never did.) While we were eating our breakfast many of our favorite Disney characters come around for a visit! Check out Dylan's Mickey-shaped waffle.

Monday, August 25, 2014. Oregon Coast Trip: Feasting from the Sea. After glassblowing on Thursday, we stopped by the lighthouse nearest our resort; Lighthouse #4 - the Yaquina Bay lighthouse. This is a literal light - house, as the light sits on top of the home of the lighthouse keeper. It is quite a charming place. Luke wanted to be the one to sign us up on the guest register. Dylan is rather bothered by this human hair sculpture. The lighthouse keep lived here with his wife and seven children. Later we...

Boys-R-Us: July 2012

Saturday, July 28, 2012. We have two birthday boys in the Spring. This year Luke turned 6 and Nate turned 15. As you know, Luke celebrated his birthday in style with not one, but two trips to Disneyland. But he also got a chance a few days later to open some presents and blow out 6 candles. I felt guilty about that, so I also got him some Darth Vadar pjs. Um, yeah, not exactly a trip to Disneyland. Sorry Nate. You are an awesome kid and I love to see the man that you are becoming. Out of the Attic. Cody,...

Thursday, May 23, 2013. Alex and Nate got their Christmas presents a little late - January late! But they will both tell you that it was worth the wait. Alex and Nate got their letterman's jackets! Both Alex and Nate earned their varsity letters in academics, swimming, and water polo! What choice did we have? All those letters had to go somewhere, plus those two boys were always so awfully cold. I'm glad they are happy. They should be. Those jackets were WAY expensive! It can't eat another photo! The pro...

Wednesday, September 21, 2011. On Sunday we made our way to the City of Brotherly Love - Philadelphia! I have two things to say about Philadelphia. 1) It was WET! 2) We LOVED it! We started our day by finding a church, and the one we found was deep in the city with zero parking! We ended up parking at the Arby's next door. But church was great once we got there, and it got us out of the rain for a few hours. There were some neat people in that ward. He was passionate as he expounded on what a marvelous d...

Sunday, September 21, 2014. We wanted to send Alex off on his mission in style, so we threw him a big fiesta "Adios! Party One look at the decor and there could be no mistaking about where he is going. Mexico! One of Dennis' clients owns a Mexican restaurant, and they helped cater much of the food. It was beautiful and delicious! Colorful sombreros and Mexican flags. I made the colorful Adios banner with my cricut. So many good people came to see Alex off! I counted about 100! What a lovely evening!

Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Mt Vernon - Washington's Home Sweet Home. On Thursday, one week into our trip, we visited Mt. Vernon, the beloved home of our first president, George Washington. The drive there through Virgina was beautiful and the home itself was magnificent, even from afar. While we waited for our tour, we visited the formal gardens just outside the house. What a pretty place! I am a sucker for a great flower garden. It brought back memories of my visit to Monet's garden in Giverny. My favo...

Boys-R-Us: March 2012

Wednesday, March 7, 2012. One More Day in Paradise. We had so much fun in Cabo, that we wouldn't wait for another day of Mexican surf, sea, and adventure! I got up early, as always and enjoyed the beautiful skies over the rocks of Cabo San Lucas. We had big plans for our second day in Cabo, and since it was a short day and they had to set sail early, we had to get an early tender to shore. Poor Luke got a face full of sea water. Our beautiful ship, the Disney Wonder. Is that a handsome ship, or what?

Boys-R-Us: April 2012
http://6boys-r-us.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. In March we finally did something that was long, long overdue. We had a reunion of the descendants of my mother's parents, Grandma and Grandpa Jones. My cousin Erin (or first cousin once removed, if you want to get technical) is my friend on Facebook and we have been trying for a long time to try to get this put together, and after a bunch of messaging back and forth and several date changes, we finally made it happen! Boy how things have changed! Kids, kids, everywhere kids!
