Her romantic mind: January 2015
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Happy Birthday Niko Part 2. Before I show you Niko's party, I want to show you how I made his birthday cake! I'm usually pretty terrible at sculpting cakes (a ton of crumbs end up in the frosting and it's kind of terrible! But this time it actually turned out pretty well! When that was done, I frosted between the layers and covered the whole thing in a layer of frosting. And that was it! It's really hard to see in the above picture, but there's probably 20-30 pteranodons flyin...

Her romantic mind: The zero percent chance of rainstorm
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-zero-percent-chance-of-rainstorm.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. The zero percent chance of rainstorm. Have you ever had one of those moments where you look around and think, "This is a happy memory"? I had one of those the other day. Our car has been overheating again (as it turns out, a broken head gasket is beyond my car-fixing abilities) so the other night we took a family walk to the library to return some books and check out some new ones. Moments later the heavens opened and it started to rain. We ran. A little rainsoaked but plenty happy.

Her romantic mind: September 2014

Friday, September 26, 2014. Yesterday for 20 minutes we had 3 two-year old boys at our house and to minimize any possible chaos (which, let's admit it, would be primarily coming from Nikolai- he has a lot of energy, especially when friends are over! I decided to enlist their help in entering our neighborhood's fall door decorating contest! I traced some leaves on paper and then had them use fall colors to paint the leaves. I really love their creations! I think our door turned out pretty nice! Since it's...

Her romantic mind: Miriam: 5 months
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015/07/miriam-5-months.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Our sweet Miriam is 5 months old! I don't have any official stats (those will come at her 6 month checkup next month) but I weighed her this morning and she's about 14 lbs. Way to grow, baby! Still doing that wake-up-around-4-and-6 thing. Lately, I feed her sitting up at 4 am and put her back in bed, but for the 6ish one I often bring her into bed with us so I can fall back asleep easier. Oh, and she's now sleeping in a pack and play, on her tummy! Also, she might be teething?

What has changed about me? My dad asked me that question on the way back to campus after spending the last half of fall break at my parent's house. He was asking in acknowledgement that after 18 years, he has gotten to know me as a person very well, and in the short few months since I have moved out, realistically on a small part of me has change, primarily in the categories of education and personal independence. On the station platform after a late night Walgreens run. With my sister Megan. On Wednesda...

It started out with a comment I heard on the news the other night. THEY are taking away our rights and treating us like second class citizens! But for some reason I just couldn't get over that first comment. THEY are taking away our rights". People. A lot. But when it comes to the "us" versus "them" mentality, both sides are equally to blame. I can't really speak to what it is like to be on the more conservative side of this fence, so let me talk just a moment to my own people. I love you guys. I thi...

My Great Salt Summer. As you may have surmised from social media I've done a lot this summer. Seriously. Several things. I went to Canada on two different occasions, took classes, worked, started an internship with a transit agency and slept a lot. One thing I managed to do with great regularity was go to my favorite place on earth, the Great Salt Lake. Best Purchase. Yet. I'm going to take you in chronological order of some of the more notable sandcastles that team Anderbright made. 1 The Lagoon Castle.

An Alberta Road Trip in Selfies (And A Few Other Photos). The selfies are in chronological order. Everything else is not. I never really told you guys about going to Alberta! I'm getting into this bad habit where I go on these road trips and tell very few people, and then start posting photos from there. I know I never got around to posting about my Vancouver trip, and good golly, I'm not sure I'll get around to posting about the Navajo Nation, but at least I'll have Alberta down. This is the Bow! Right ...
