http://www.asemesteringhana.blogspot.com/2010/02/short-is-better-than-nothing.html

My Semester Abroad in Ghana. Friday, February 5, 2010. Short is better than nothing. Hope you feel better. February 5, 2010 at 8:03 PM. Had to make a short comment initially to make sure I could log in. I do hope you feel better soon. Ill be working tomorrow; but, mom will be home (except for the middle) if you text a Skype request. Thanks for the pictures, each one is worth 1000 words. See you soon. (The four vaccines in one visit affected me; but, it is passing.). February 5, 2010 at 8:07 PM.

My Semester Abroad in Ghana: September 2008

http://www.asemesteringhana.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

My Semester Abroad in Ghana. Sunday, September 21, 2008. For a long time I would stop every once in a while and realize how strange it felt to actually live in Ghana. Now I pause to realize how strange it is that I've become so used to living in Ghana that it no longer feels strange to me. One of the things the girls told me about that was very interesting was how some Ghanaian women will rub some sort of cream on their skin that turns them reddish in an attempt to become some strange version of white.

A Semester in Athens

A Semester in Athens. A Journal of Study Abroad at College Year in Athens, Spring Term 2015. Friday, May 15, 2015. Time to Say Goodbye. I hate them so much that I didn't attend the farewell dinner - it just is too much for me. I have a hard time with transitions, anyway.but saying goodbye knowing I will never be in this place again with these beautiful souls is emotional overload. I will miss so much. I will miss strolling Thissio. And the sweet, welcoming smile of the waitress at Poco Poco. I will m...

A Semester in Berlin

A Semester in Berlin. Tuesday, January 7, 2014. A year ago today I boarded the first airplane of many and started out into what would become one of the greatest adventures of my life. When I left I had no idea what was in store for me. A year ago today I could have never imagined what it was like to live with an amazing host family, or to become so familiar with the trains, buses, trams, and even airports in Berlin that they would become second nature to me. I could have never imagined that I would.

Jess Conquers Costa Rica!

Jess Conquers Costa Rica! Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. " -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Monday, May 6, 2013. How I Made My Study Abroad Successful. I just wanted to write a little bit (in English) about some things that I did to make my study abroad successful, give some advice, what I wish I'd done differently, and just comment on the program (a Spanish Immersion Study Abroad). BRING YOUR OWN SUNSCREEN. Watch movies in Spanish. People are extr...

A Semester in Nice. April 13, 2013. I just wanted to drop in to apologize for my lack of posts over the last couple of weeks. I apologize again for the lack of recent posts, and I hope to start writing again soon! Living with a “Famille d’Accueil”. March 24, 2013. 1 Clean up after yourself. 5 Always say &#82...

A Semester in Rennes

Sunday, May 30, 2010. Germany. Saying goodbyes. Packing and cleaning my little room. I honestly can't believe I leave to go back to the USA tomorrow. These past four months although they went by incredibly quickly also seemed to last a very long time. I've been so lucky to have all the experiences that I've had. I have so many stories to tell now. My trip to Germany was wonderful! I did fahrrad tours with my opa all around Enniger and saw the Bodies Exhibit in Bremen with my cousin (second cousin? I can ...

Advanced Health & Medical Journalism: An education in review | What I've learned and how I've used it

Advanced Health and Medical Journalism: An education in review. What I've learned and how I've used it. If at first you don’t succeed…. For example, I found a lot of material suggesting that no one knows about or is prepared for the implementation of the SHOP exchanges. But this was difficult to communicate even with substantial data until I had two characters: Peter, the sympathetic small business owner, and Jimmy, the soon to be uninsured bar manager. By incorporating their stories, I wrote wha...These...

Sevilla Señorita

Martes, 23 de junio de 2009. I wasn't necessarily depressed being home, i just felt (and still sometimes feel) antisocial almost, and reserved. The question "How was Spain? Still stumps me - it's either a one word answer, as enthusiastically as I can manage, or it's a month-long story. How can I possibly sum up so many events and feelings in one sentence? Glad to be home? Is also a tough question. Happy to see Bennett, my family, my friends? Viernes, 22 de mayo de 2009. Jueves, 21 de mayo de 2009. Our la...
