The “general synopsis” as at Monday, 24th June 2013. On going boat maintenance! Tuesday, 18th June 2013. We are at the moment opposite the Isle of Arran! 2nd June to 8th June 2013. Eventually planning to be up in Troon on 8th June! John has had car problems since returning from Scotland last weekend. So already we are 1 week behind the passage plan. Day 19 and 20 (23rd/24th May). Left Dartmouth in gorgeous weather. Got breezy on route to Plymouth. Sea state was quite rough around Start Point and Prawle Point. The forecast was variable 3-4 but was more like 4-5. The winds were Westerly. Arrived at Plymouth. Put the engine on to round Great Mew Stone Rocks and Mew Stone Ledge. He has endured several big storms en route and is pleased with how his new baby handles in bad weather. We partake of beers and a fine meal at the yacht club while the locals get all of a fluster over Padraig Harrington closing in on a win in the Open. A good wind blows all night. My recent week in the Channel Islands turned into an impromptu cycling holiday as winds consistently over 45 Knots and gusting to 50 limited us to just two good days sailing. In fact the weather was distinctly odd, huge winds, but during the day at least dry hot and sunny. When rain belts did come through the wind ensured that it was done and dusted in ten minutes and the sun was soon out again. Posted by Ashdown Sailing.

At the appointed time the trainer appeared and shepherded us through the farm buildings to his workshop in a converted barn.
