Mr. Thoma's Blogging Haven: December 2010
http://blogginghaven.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Mr Thoma's Blogging Haven. Monday, December 6, 2010. I am a huge fan of NPR, and I believe that listening to their programming on the radio provides only half the story. NPR's website houses all their current programming, as well as archives of all their past programs and specials. As soon as I saw the podcast assignment I knew I would end up on the NPR Podcast Directory. In order to find my podcast. I really enjoy listening to the Culturetopia. Episode that aired on August 11th, 2010. My Blog Roll Son!

Mr Thoma's Blogging Haven. Monday, November 22, 2010. Global Learning: This could be for you. Was a lot of fun to explore, two of it's features - in2Books. Really grabbed my attention though. As an English teacher, how could I not focus on the in2books feature? Monday, November 8, 2010. Bubblr: Poetry in Photos. I thought that Bubblr. By William Carlos Williams. There are so many ways you could use these tools in the ELA classroom, but this is the first one that came to my mind. Others are allowed to use...

Mr. Thoma's Blogging Haven: It's a NING, man
http://blogginghaven.blogspot.com/2010/09/its-ning-man.html
Mr Thoma's Blogging Haven. Monday, September 27, 2010. It's a NING, man. A Ning that I have been a member of and find extremely useful and interesting is the University at Buffalo's English Education Ning. The only problem I now have with NING is that it has gone to a pay model. There is a sponsor that will pay for your educational NING to stay active, but I have heard talk that the guidelines to qualify are a bit stringent. Labels: community of practice. Melissa Viola: September 2010
http://melissaviola.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 26, 2010. For all of my interest in technology and it's uses in the classroom, a Ning is something I have never used or consulted in my career thus far. I spent a lot of time looking through various educational Nings and those Nings created specifically for teacher's. The one I have found the most interesting and useful for me as a social studies teacher is The National Council for the Social Studies. I also like that it has a forum where teachers can voice their concerns and opinions o...

Sunday, October 10, 2010. To Schrute or Not to Schrute. The key to motivation is often elusive to teachers. Trying to find engaging and exciting ways to present materials, while still adhering to standards and teaching students the material necessary is challenging. Cool Cat Teacher Blog tries to tackle this question in a unique format. Her post entitled Why Aren't they Motivated? Does Looking at Dwight Schrute Give us the Answer? October 18, 2010 at 4:01 AM.
