Thursday, 31 January 2013. On the 12th I ventured out of county to Berkshire with Joe Stockwell. I departed back to Uni in Cumbria on 21st where birding instantly took a back seat; the usual story. Sunday, 28 July 2013. Mexico Trip Report (22/06/13 - 02/07/13). During the day we stayed mostly local, going for a sweaty trip across the lagoon on a pedalo that yielded Osprey, Altimira Oriole and American Crocodile. In the afternoon we relaxed on the beach as Laughing Gulls flew to roost and Royal Terns flew up and down fishing. Tuesday, 6 November 2012. With Waxwings arriving in off the North Sea, it didn't take long before the first few turned up in Carlisle just up the road from me. These were the first I had seen all year, but were particularly mobile as I followed them around the Kingstown Industrial Estate on the 1st of the month. Ing as it went. Wednesday, 24 April 2013. An ill-timed trip to Poland with Emma that coincided with an ever growing pile of work for me to do wasn't really what I needed. But we made the most of an awkward situation; the evenings were spent writing essays but the days were fun and productive; exploring the city of Krakov, while visiting Auschwits and the salt mines were thought provoking to say the least.
