Tuesday, May 20, 2014. I just got back from a great weekend trip in Houston. Visiting an old high school friend and her new little additions to her family,. Pretty much a weekend of cuteness overload. While she and her friend Michael triumphed over physical feats, Barry and I were on babysitting and photography duty which was quite all right with me! We pretty much just got to relax, enjoy the beautiful weather, and entertain the little ones. Total win! These guys are so tough! Just a few snapshots :).

This year has been pretty busy, so I decided instead of carving and creating a crazy mess and challenging my arm muscles, I would prefer to just paint a couple pumpkins low-key style. We put together some crackers, cheeses, grapes, and brownies for snacking, and whipped up some cider and cocoa as well for a seasonal taste to energize our creativity. Monday, February 25, 2013. Red Moss Stitch Infinity Scarf. Finally finished my red cowl! I actually had almost completed it a few weeks ago, but just did not like the width at all so undid the entire thing and restarted it. Whew, what a workout. It's all stitched in a moss stitch throughout, and I like wrapping it twice around.. 1 Size 15 US knitting needles. 2 Caron Simply Soft yarn, 2 skiens/600 yds (or another worsted weight yarn, or 300 yds of bulky weight yarn). 1 Cast on 23 stitches.

Monday, May 19, 2014. So its been awhile lol. This spring was pretty tough for various reasons, but one big change was I signed up for my first painting class! I have always been overwhelmed and intimidated by paints coming from a black and white world; there are so many things to consider and learn when painting that just are not an issue when drawing or sketching.
