Today it is a well run institution that offers education, vocational / craft training and occupational therapy as well as day care for all mentally deficient children. In 1980,the Special School was able to make a modest beginning in a group of buildings called Shantiniketan (also known as Haridas Colony),the use of which was allowed ,rent free, by late Haridas Gordhandas.
