Asia Area Mission

Wednesday, April 3, 2013. TIME TO SAY GOODBYE. Farewell to Hong Kong. It is hard to believe that our mission is about to end. Eighteen months has gone by so fast! We spoke in our branch on Easter Sunday and Monday we did our last shift in the temple following which we were released as temple ordinance. Doing our weekly shift in the temple has been a real highlight for us. We are happy to report that the Asia Area achieved 100% on time yearend audit completions. Asia Area Mission: September 2012

http://www.asiaareamission.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 6, 2012. BEIJING - AUGUST 2012. While in Beijing we had the opportunity to visit some of the major tourist sights. An additional bonus for us was having a home cooked roast beef dinner - just like back home - at the district president's home on Sunday afternoon. It was a real treat! The most enjoyable aspect of these types of visits is meeting the local members and priesthood leaders and feeling of their dedication for the gospel in their lives. We rode the gondola up. This little gir...

Tuesday, January 24, 2012. GONG HEY FAT CHOY. May you all have health, happiness and prosperity in the year of the Dragon. The Fireworks for the lunar new year celebration in Hong Kong were awesome. They went on like this for a good 30 minutes. Our Branch Family Home Evening Group. Gondola to Ngong Ping Village. 288 steps to the top. Tai O Fishing Village. This is not where we ate but our place was almost as bad. Took a little boat ride out to see the pink dolphins but did not see any. GONG HEY FAT CHOY!

Sunday, February 26, 2012. These missionaries were at the reception because there were well over 100 non-members invited. We had the opportunity to spend some time seeing some of the sights of Bangkok. It is a big sprawling city with horrendous traffic jams. Here are some pictures of the main sights we saw. Traffic circle outside the Grand Palace. A dazzling site from afar, the. Some new friends we made at Wat Arun. they all spoke good English. Posted by Larry and Jolayne. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://www.asiaareamission.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 3, 2012. Waterfall near dedication site. View from dedication site. On the other side of the Peak one finds amazing views of the skyscrapers of Hong Kong. A sample of the views we saw are below. The tall building on the left across the harbour is the ICC Tower - 4th tallest building in the world. Here are a couple of upscale residences on the Peak. We took the double-decker bus up to the top and then took the tram down. View from the bus. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve! Therefo...

Random Thoughts: summer part 1

http://whiteheadfive.blogspot.com/2013/10/summer-part-1.html

The random thoughts of our Happy family. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I don't know why. but looking at my kids cleaning the bathroom makes my heart happy! Ash came up for the Stampede, it was fun for the cousins to hang, I have no pictures of it but these. We fancied ourselves photographers, we are not. The big kids and us went to Cardston to see their version of Les Miserables. They did a surprisingly good job! And the kids loved it. Is it even possible to be down south and not have ice cream?

Random Thoughts: Cruzin'

http://whiteheadfive.blogspot.com/2013/12/cruzin.html

The random thoughts of our Happy family. Sunday, December 29, 2013. I am skipping over the month of September. I can't find my pictures of the kids first day at school, but they do go! The whole reason we moved to Airdrie was for this school for the boys and they have been doing really well there and Abbey is loving it to. I'm sure other stuff happened, but without the pics I can't remember! And had 10 days of people feeding us and cleaning up after us! Plus more eating, romantic sunsets. Mom and Dad Gibb.

Random Thoughts: Confessions of a Mother.... and autism

http://whiteheadfive.blogspot.com/2013/10/confessions-of-mother-and-autism.html

The random thoughts of our Happy family. Thursday, October 31, 2013. Confessions of a Mother. and autism. Right away I said yes. it is hard but so worth it. Why? She asked. I wasn't sure what to say, how do you even put in to words some of the thoughts and feelings of joy and amazement that I have had just looking at my kids! The gift of such a body can actually strengthen a family as parents and siblings willingly build their lives around that child born with special needs.". October 31, 2013 at 9:13 PM.
