Recipe of the Week. Homemade Ratatouille over Rice. August 28, 2009 at 8:38 PM. I’ve decided to do something different from my other entries in the past. This entry has been divided up into 4 sections: food trends, recent happenings, culinary school, and charities. These are a culmination of thoughts that I have been meaning to put into writing the past few weeks. Biggest complaint? So much to write so little time! Food trends this past summer:. You’ve never heard of the Vietnam War? Asian Dog is usually...

The Hot Dog I Ate. An Extravaganza of Encased Meats! John Ate A Hot Dog In A Waffle Cone So You Don’t Have To. June 7, 2015. In fact, Boy and I recently had an. Disappointing run-in at a cart where the dogs were so lackluster, when we drove by a few weeks later and saw that the cart was gone, we admittedly cheered. Yeah, I raised him right. He asked me if I would write about it. No, I said. Why even bother? That I tell you about it. I will not, however, tell you. How amazing would that be? At this stage ...

The Hot Dog I Ate. An Extravaganza of Encased Meats! John and Boy Grab Forks and Knives at Windmill. July 31, 2015. I will never be mistaken for a proper, well-bred gentleman, but when I recently encountered a chili and onion dog at Windmill in Long Branch, NJ, I had no choice but to reach for a fork and knife. There was just no other way. Going to Windmill, but I let him think he had a say…). One as it should be…. 8230;and one drenched in liquid evil. Seven locations in New Jersey. From → chili dog.

John Goes Back For Moore Dogs | The Hot Dog I Ate
https://thehotdogblog.wordpress.com/2015/07/18/john-goes-back-for-moore-dogs
The Hot Dog I Ate. An Extravaganza of Encased Meats! John Goes Back For Moore Dogs. July 18, 2015. Let’s get the fun, ironic part of this entry out of the way first: I discovered Moore Dogs, in Carver, MA, on my way back from a run to a health food store. Truth be told, I had already used said run as an excuse to re-visit Danish Dogs. Look, Jasper, it’s the promised land. I drove away from Moore Dogs knowing I’d be back. There was more to try (I promise I’m not riffing on “MooreR...John and Boy Grab F...

Saturday, June 27, 2009. New york glimpses: on the move. Chalk this one up as a victory for Portland: our food cart. After all - just that they're a lot more mobile than their Portland brethren, making them harder to track down. On our first day in town, we went with our friend Hannah down to the weekly vintage bazaar called the Brooklyn Flea. But A steered me away from a kimchi-garnished hot dog and over to dessert. From then on, our mobile eating stayed on a decidedly sweet note. Walking down Bedfo...

Making It Easier to Get Started. Hot Dog Review: ASIADOG at Broadway Bites. July 27, 2014. You only have a few days left to check out Broadway Bites. An explosion of street dining experience at Greeley Square Park on W 33rd Street and Broadway. In New York. I’ve passed through a couple of times and have always found a reason to stop for a hot dog. Usually, I need a quick fix while walking, and I’m always down for a good hot dog, as regular readers know! And I was impressed by the Thai-style topping.

Food, drink, and miscellany. Two Saturdays ago Sona, the Navins and I hit up Brooklyn Flea at Fort Greene to sample the offerings of its storied food vendors. Three in particular were on. My hit list: Porchetta, Asia Dog, and the Red Hook Lobster Pound. I should note that previous Flea adventures were had this winter at the Atlantic Avenue terminal at Hanson Place, but were not documented as I was sans camera and apparently making empty promises about writing new entries. I'm a bit rusty. The stand exist...
