An Introduction to Nan Nightlife | Thailand Tracks
https://asiadventure.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/32
Exploring, Teaching, and Learning in Nan. Laquo; School Visit. An Introduction to Nan Nightlife. June 14, 2011. Caitlin’s Thai friend, Lak, came to meet us at Ricky’s but we soon moved to a small bar called Soda Club with retro decor and a hipster Thai band singing some Maroon 5. I could not evoke an image of the hipster Thai before I saw it for myself but when I did, I thought they pulled it off quite well. And we thought it may have been a quiet night. Exploring, Teaching, and Learning in Nan. Laquo; The Fork Fix. Buddha Bless Raps It Up. August 30, 2011. Above, the Al-Azhar Eating Restaurant – A great place to eat. Caitlin and I ingeniously split the chicken butter marsala, palak paneer, a garlic naan, and a CHEESE naan. There is no cheese in Nan. For dinner, soup dumplings. Little to no idea how they get liquid in a dumpling but God do bless the man who made it so. Barbecue stingray. Awesome, cheap hawker food at its best. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Exploring, Teaching, and Learning in Nan. Laquo; Buddha Bless Raps It Up. From the Islands of Indonesia to the Moon and Back. A Teacher and Her Gunung. November 30, 2011. For the past few weeks I have been successfully avoiding completion of a vacation blog post. I am intimidated by the feat of remembering all that happened and distracted by the life that has continued rapidly on in Nan. But five weeks later I am finally ready (maybe? To get all of it (most of it.some of it) down. Child of the Sea. We aw...

CP in Thailand: July 2011
http://cpinthailand.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Thursday, July 14, 2011. In With The In Crowd: Guay Tiao Sportsmen and Lanna Noblemen. This past week, in between leading young minds through the intricacies of irregular past tense verbage and the correct pronunciation of "I feel furious! Fwoo - lee - us! Mostly for my own amusement), my hours were spent hiking trails in the mountains of Nan, eating at the abode of ancient Nan nobility, and playing late night riverside soccer. Last Friday, the seven of us took motorbik...

http://cpinthailand.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Thursday, March 31, 2011. This comes as my first-ever blog post written from my kitchen counter at home in San Diego. Now I just have to relearn my old phone and right-side-of-the-road traffic patterns, and what it feels like to not sweat at all hours of the day. Tune in again soon! Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Don't Cry For Me Bandon Sriserm. The truth is. I loved you so much, I'll be back in 3 months. One of my best friends from college, Julia Jacobson, arrived in Nan la...

The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. 48 Hours in Singapore. Merlions and Tea Time: Singapore, the Southeast Asian curveball. Just when the cheese cravings subsided again, the sound of farang-farang! Way to really throw off my Southeast Asian groove, SG. Am I still in Asia? Is this still 2011? Am I going to get arrested for the pack of Trident Splash gum I forgot to take out of my purse? Marina Bay Sands: doing what's never been done. With a boat before. Katie and my 48-hour vaca...
CP in Thailand: September 2011
http://cpinthailand.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Sunday, September 25, 2011. September has been a hard month to come to terms with. It means finishing (another) semester of molding young Bandon Sriserm minds in the shape of ABCs and present perfect tense. It will be saying goodbye to a few fellow foreign teachers in town, who are off to teach in other exciting places next term. And most regrettably, last week, it was the loss of my grandpa, James C.N. Paul. Another Caitlin-Hannah reunion in Thailand. Last January)....

CP in Thailand: January 2011
http://cpinthailand.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Friday, January 28, 2011. A bit of news to start:. I have decided that one year of squat toilets, pit stains, and a highly limited selection of male companions who aren't named "Gookgai" or "Golf" just isn't going to suffice. so I've officially renewed my contract with Princeton-in-Asia for a second year of teaching in Nan! Jing-jing, Aj. Wandee. English Camp: where tuxedos and polo shirts coexist. Thursday, January 13, 2011. My Southeast Asian Other Half in the N-a-n.

The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Some story-worthy moments from my and Nicole's 5-day trip to Vientiane (which I still don't think I'm pronouncing right) this past weekend:. 2 Sunsets on the Mekong. 4 Close Call at the Sauna. I narrowly escaped some seriously indecent exposure. But hey, for a spa day that cost less than my breakfast, it was pretty awesome. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Excuse Any Typos: I Can't Hear My Own Thoughts. Sometimes I imagine a Thai person in cold New Jers...

CP in Thailand: August 2010
http://cpinthailand.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
The Adventures of an Ajaan in Nan. Monday, August 30, 2010. X Marks the Spot. I am ashamed to admit it took three months to get the ajaans out to a night club in Nan, but we finally did it. Determined to make it past my usual bedtime of 11 pm, I armed myself with a 30 minute pre-dinner napski and a can of 7-11 espresso. It was to be an epic evening in Nan. Au told us - but gave us translated compliments all night long nonetheless. At the club, we were met by Lak, another 30-something Thai woman we'd met ...

Thailand Tracks | Exploring, Teaching, and Learning in Nan
Exploring, Teaching, and Learning in Nan. A Valentine’s Post: Love at First Toastie. February 15, 2012. I have been feeling guilty that I haven’t written home about my new and devoted love. I have kept it from you, my dear. Readers, and for that I do apologize. Let’s amend this mishap immediately and so reveal the object of my admiration: 7/11. Don’t judge me. This is Asia. And in the small city of Nan, which has resisted even the invasion of Big C and Tesco. I’ll leave you to ponder that one. Update: on...
