Stuff I've written, that I am not too embarassed to post. All items here are the property of Leon Adato. No reprinting, copying, etc. You get the point. Don't be a jerk. Wednesday, June 07, 2006. Eyes wide like a horse about to spook. Sideways staring at my fingers on the keyboard. As if they are medusae-snakes, ready to betray you at any moment. Capture you and bind you and force you into. The impossible labor of sentences and grammar. Head thrown back, eyes unfocused. As your steady stream of ideas,.

You were only waiting. For a long time, I have carried around with me a very depressing mental image for the Beatles song "Blackbird". I would relate it here, but I've been told by enough people that it ruined their enjoyment of the song so I usually just keep it to myself. Pat pat pat pat). Pat pat pat pat).

Dear friends and family:. A wonderful, stable, quiet week was had by all, with no major breakthroughs but also no great complications. Well, Debbie found marshmallow "Poohps" - same stuff, but in the shape of Winnie the Pooh. OK, ok, so it's not a discovery to rival cold fusion, but it brightened our day. Coming u...

ESSAY: Tooth Faerie Delayed. My wife and I are pretty fanatic when it comes to the tooth fairy. The next morning, Isabelle came downstairs looking confused and vaguely shaken. The tooth fairy hadn't come! You could tell her world was a slightly less understandable place. Concern was etched on her face. I thought&#...

Dear friends and family:. In Switzerland, Leon made the last trip to the house to pick up a few remaining items and tie up some loose ends. Just a few small things: some cords, a telephonse, a freezer. Stuff like that. It was a nice sense of closure, packing the car up and driving away. Banana yellow Corsa. It w...

Some of my technical ramblings. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Third (and final) Post on SolarWinds tricks. Originally posted on www.thwack.com here. http://leonadato.blogspot.com/2011/09/solarwinds-giving-rights-to-ncm-without.html
Some of my technical ramblings. Tuesday, September 06, 2011. Solarwinds: Giving rights to NCM without giving away the farm. This is an enhancement to a thread that originally started on thwack. Since NPM 10.1.x, everyone has enjoyed the ability to use AD groups rather than individual user accounts. Yay for NPM. But now in NCM, we have to somehow validate all these "new" users in NCM. Users who might not even have logged in yet, because you added an AD GROUP rather than a single account. Find the table &#...

I pointed out that SEO companies sell features that can be done easily by most people, thus avoiding cost. As a reminder, those 4 simple, easy-to-accomplish techniques are:. Having a descriptive domain name. Creating and submitting a sitemap. Descriptive titles and meaningful content. Getting other websites to link to you. Descriptive titles and meaningful content.
