Hex & Violence: October 2013
http://hexandviolence.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 27, 2013. J126 Ugly Faces: An Ugly Dicing. John Knowles and I sat down this afternoon to play J126 Ugly Faces from Journal Nine, a Chas Argent design that initially seemed to get some bad press and some fairly rough treatment for the Germans. The omens were not propitious as I knocked over my best coffee mug onto the tiled floor before the game even started. Cacophonix may even have struck up a dirge about Toutatis and the sky falling around that time. Links to this post. While I was unab...

Hex & Violence: My ASL
http://hexandviolence.blogspot.com/p/my-asl-collection.html
I had wondered about placing a listing of what I actually own (and have owned in some cases) on this Blog as it might seem like big noting, but really I pale in comparison to the real collectors, plus these days, I'm far more focused on playing anyway. For me this is more about having a publicly available quick reference for both myself and any potential Face to Face, VASL or PbeM opponents so that I don't have to go through a lot of this every time it comes down to choosing a scenario. It's what we do.

Hex & Violence: July 2014
http://hexandviolence.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 21, 2014. The Upside to Moving. There are many upsides to the new place, but something that meshes with my previous post and encapsulates the change in my personal attitude is that I'm now far more comfortable about hosting games and even having a mini-asl event as the Cleavinator does over the New Year's break. Being able to prepare decent food ahead of time will make it far more of a pleasdant event than having to traipse out to buy food etc. Links to this post. What are not visible are th...

Hex & Violence: February 2013
http://hexandviolence.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 1, 2013. So that's it for pre-orders from MMP: the USPS rates and MMP shipping charges were always treading a fine line between what was justifiable and what could no longer be justified. With pre-orders it was a necessity to pool orders in order to keep the shipping cost per item reasonable.but that option has been stymied for the future as the postage for more than say 3 or 4 scenario packs from MMP was seriously obscene. The real spinner in this is that the new postal rates are almost...

Hex & Violence: TPM ASL
http://hexandviolence.blogspot.com/p/my-third-party-asl-collection.html
This is the one that will be the hardest to keep up to date and accurate in no small part to the actions of one publisher in constantly revisiting (read mindlessly regurgitating with no QA) their product line. I doubt I'll be actively seeking out any more of their products and will rely on objective appraisals before splurging the cash again. It's probably easiest to start with those TPMs who are no longer or as good as with us. Kinetic Energy/Time on Target. Time on Target 1: Bulge. King of the Hill.
