A Slight Change of Scenery: January 2011
http://aslightchangeofscenery.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
A Slight Change of Scenery. Monday, January 17, 2011. Cascade Half Marathon Race Recap Week 1 of Marathon Training. When I initially signed up for this race, I thought that it looked like a nice flat course for a PR. Then the Holidays/Vacation came and went without much running, and I decided that I would just run it for “fun” and hope to finish! At some point I though I might try to break 2 hours, but I have been feeling pretty sluggish lately, and really just wanted to finish! I was hoping to settle in...
A Slight Change of Scenery: A bit of an update
http://aslightchangeofscenery.blogspot.com/2011/06/bit-of-update.html
A Slight Change of Scenery. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. A bit of an update. AND I was going to be running with three of my girlfriends for a Girls Weekend, so at least I knew I'd have fun! Happy Girls Half Marathon. We drove down on Saturday, for the Sunday "all-girls" race, with a quick pit stop for two of my friends to run the Stoller Vineyards 5k. After that fun, we made the 3-hour trek to Bend for packet pickup. It was snowing. At the end of MAY! My pre-race meal was a donut (why not? We lined up with the...
A Slight Change of Scenery: February 2011

A Slight Change of Scenery. Monday, February 21, 2011. Hagg Lake Trail 25k Recap 10 weeks left! J and I spent last weekend out volunteering at Hagg Lake Trail. Onto the 25k recap! Mud Mud. Mud. If you ever do this race, don’t let the first 8 or so miles deceive you. The last half-ish of the race is a big dirty, slippery mess. I don’t think I saw anyone finish the 50k who. I was counting down the miles, hoping for some glimpse of the finish as my legs were begging me to stop! But first, holy boggy mud!

A Slight Change of Scenery. Sunday, November 21, 2010. EWEB’s Run to Stay Warm Half Marathon Race Report. Freezing temps, wind, and rain. The weather forecasters could not have been more wrong! It turned out to be a beautiful, clear, sunny day! I was getting pretty nervous in the days leading up to my first goal race in a long time; I was really just hoping there wouldn’t be any ice or snow to slip me up! But I couldn’t have hoped for the weather to be any better than it was! My friend K was nice enough ...

Or: sometimes the only way to get encouragement is to talk about yourself in the third person. December 22, 2016. The Year in Music: 2016. Whew here we go. I embedded a year-end playlist at the bottom, including a few tracks that didn’t quite made the cut but I couldn’t be bothered in further editing. Put on “random” to appreciate what it sounds like in my head every day. Top Ten (in alphabetical order):. Aesop Rock – The Impossible Kid. American Football – LP2. Bon Iver – 22, A Million. In many ways, th...

In a Positive Light
In a Positive Light. Sunday, April 18, 2010. I wish I had taken a before picture. Oh well, nobody really wanted to see the outdated little flowered wallpaper, hickory cabinet, brass faucet, one pieced clam shell sink, polished brass with flowered glass light fixture, almond colored toilet or the builder grade flat mirror. here is our finished half bath. We tore off wallpaper, painted the walls, took off the mirror, replaced the toilet, towel bars sink, light fixture and faucet. Lately, I have been reading ...
