The Wild, the Ignorant and the Iggy Shuffle. Thoughts on Wilderness, Hermeneutics and Vocation. Thursday, July 27, 2006. In light of Walt's gracious interaction with me regarding his book, I thought it only fair to give his website a plug/link. Regardless of my issues with the book, the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding does provide a staggering array of pop culture interaction that youth leaders should avail themselves of. The Wild, the Ignorant and the Iggy Shuffle. Thoughts on Wilderness, Hermeneutics and Vocation. Friday, March 31, 2006. Canadian Teens and TV. Some recent stats show that Canadians teens are likely watching less TV than they did a couple of years ago. One potential cause is obviously the Internet. Other interesting findings: men 18-24 are the lowest watching TV demographic; the highest watching demographic is women over 65 at a whopping 35.6 hours! Who says that TV is for teens? A summary is at CBC.

The Wild, the Ignorant and the Iggy Shuffle. Thoughts on Wilderness, Hermeneutics and Vocation. Tuesday, May 09, 2006. Anxiety and Youth Ministry. At a deeper level, however, I’ve been doing some serious thinking about these sort of one day deals. I’ve done a bunch of them in the past, mostly for my denomination but sometimes for others. In general, I come in, talk as much and as fast as I can, and leave feeling empty. What did I really accomplish in the lives of these people? Very little in my opinion.

The Wild, the Ignorant and the Iggy Shuffle. Thoughts on Wilderness, Hermeneutics and Vocation. Monday, October 23, 2006. I'm not afraid of post modernism. Who's Afraid of Postmodernism? I’ve spent a bunch of time walking through the dense forest of continental post modernity, and I must say that the path nor the destination have been overly encouraging. Thankfully, James K. A. Smith has trimmed the forest, shredded the extra brush and constructed a usable structure out of postmodernism. He is not ignora...

The Wild, the Ignorant and the Iggy Shuffle. Thoughts on Wilderness, Hermeneutics and Vocation. Sunday, January 29, 2006. A post by James. Some of the negative aspects of the show are, well showing the dark side of humanity. Also the blood and guts used to show various wounds and injuries. And the show is super unrealistic, these people solve crimes in days, that would normally take months. Yet on that last note it is for the sake of a one hour TV show, forgivable.
