It's the start that stops most people. Guess where I am? Yep, the whole Thailand thing was a cover-up - I actually came home for Christmas! Only just tho - I left my home very early on the 24th, to arrive in Melbourne about 8am on Christmas morning. I wanted to suprise my parents, and from the look on mum's face, I'd say, yes, she was very suprised! At the airport, I couldn't get over all the Aussie accents - so amazingly strong! I have adjusted quickly tho, and its almost like nothing has changed. We ha...

It's the start that stops most people. Went to church again yesterday. Valerie wasn't there, but Heather was and greeted me cheerfully. After the service tho, everyone just up and leaves really soon after! Got a message that teachers were going out with the Nova Japanese staff for tea, and did I want to come. I was so excited! Pleasant people, intelligent conversation. Went home feeling accepted and inspired to do stuff with my life (and admittedly somewhat inebriated). What's the deal with that? Believe...

It's the start that stops most people. Doing that touristy thing. Well, on Sunday I got to do the whole touristy thing in my own city! Amy and Jacinta came to visit, and we had a great day! The weather cooled, and was so beautifully pleasant all day - unreal! The funniest part was the number of Japanese ppl who stopped to watch us, and then had a turn of their own when we were done! There was no one there before! And b/c we had been to the museum etc, it only cost us 1000yen! Once again, wasn't an early ...

It's the start that stops most people. Feeling a little down about life? Feeling a lack of significance or purpose? Why is it, that in an age and country where wealth and opportunity abound, we feel so empty? The world is your oyster! The possibilities are endless! Why does this make me so depressed? Because maybe that job is just a little better. Why so many divorces? Because maybe I could be happier with someone else. Why so much discontentment? Because maybe I could be doing something greater. A quick...

It's the start that stops most people. Guess where I am? Yes, that's right! We have the internet on at home! It was so exciting to be able to come home straight after work tonight, instead of having to go to JJs. We are very happy about it! So now I can actually surf the net a little, and talk on msn without having to stress about the time! Hot, isn't it? It was indeed hot today. Hope you all aren't freezing too much! Posted by Vi @ 7/29/2005 10:36:00 pm. Well, Tues was another. My first wedding present!

It's the start that stops most people. Nagasaki, Japanese and Kids Training. I went to Nagasaki on Sunday to meet up with Elle`s friend Steve, and had an unreal day! It was so good to have someone to go sightseeing with - much more fun that going on your own. And he was actually able to find his way around really well (as compared to me who could get lost in Ballarat! And he had the lonely planet guide, so it was like having my own personal tour guide! On Monday I got trained to teach kids classes - not ...

It's the start that stops most people. I am actually starting to believe I am really going! I got an email this morning to confirm my departure date as May 10th, and my destination as Nagasaki! Aparently there is a large Dutch community there too, so it should be an interesting place to live! I'll be living in a 3 bedroom apartment with Martina, an Irish lass who has been there since June 2002 (lots of useful info from her! Lots of nice new people to make friends with! It's the start that stops most people. My first hitori de trip. I've always had the sneaky suspicion that I am a little too disorganised, scatterbrained and naive to travel on my own. but I'm happy to have proved myself wrong! I just survived my first trip by myself (hitori de)! I know you are busy people, so here's my hol in dot points:. Woke, packed, went to catch the bus at 11:30ish. Next bus not til 1pm, so coffee at Starbucks with Mike. At Kumamoto, went straight to the castle. Felt all cleansed aft...

It's the start that stops most people. I just survived my first trip to a Japanese chiropractor! I had a headache for a couple of weeks, and it was mostly better by the time I managed to find a chiro, but I went anyway in the hope that he could make me. It was quite scary! So it was all good, and tonight I am about to go to the movies with Valerie, who I haven't seen in. So that'll be fun! I'm gonna go get ready now, cuz we're going to Taco Bell for dinner!
