Saturday, May 13, 2006. Beethoven Symphonies for Piano. Well, it seems as though playing the Beethoven Symphonies on Piano has become popular again. Naxos are lacking just the final disc to complete their survey - No's 7 and 8 to go, and I've just been listening to this performance of the No 9. Not overly impressed, it seems to lack fire, and the piano itself is quite tinny - it needs some serious meat, more bass definitely. Be unimpressed by Naxos here. A Sort of Notebook.
