This c. 1920's Spanish Revival was a foreclosure that had been vacant for about 2 years. This blog is my attempt to document our renovations of what was once a grand old house. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Thursday was the last day of school and we have started summer vacation! Anna Claire cried on the way home from school Thursday because she is going to miss her sweet teacher. Saturday, April 30, 2011. We woke to tornado sirens early Wednesday morning. After checking the local TV stations we went to our basement for 15 minutes. When we came back upstairs our home was untouched by the storm. We did not have power but after a run through our neighborhood I understood why. Trees and powerlines covered our roads. Thursday, March 22, 2012. We spent part of Spring Break in Virginia and Washington D.C! My brother and his family live in Virginia so my mom, sister, Anna Claire and Lizzie drove up for a fun visit. The girls had a fabulous time! Cousins - subway - zoo - the national mall - hotel rooms: what could be better? Monday, October 31, 2011. We have had a fun day! Lizzie had a pumpkin parade at school today. She had to decorate a pumpkin based on a book character. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Sweet sisters reading together! She lost the bottom two in first grade and their replacements came right in - no big deal! She lost one front tooth back in December and their is no replacement in sight - seriously! She wrote the tooth fairy a note that she should get more than $1 because it was so much trouble.
