Made in the Shade: Labor Day Four Wheeling Frenzy at Jacob Lake
http://madeintheshadeklp.blogspot.com/2010/09/labor-day-four-wheeling-frenzy-at-jacob.html
Monday, September 6, 2010. Labor Day Four Wheeling Frenzy at Jacob Lake. It is a tradition to go to Jacob Lake camping for Labor Day weekend. We have all enjoyed traveling the old logging roads to the rim by snowmobile and by four wheeler. It is great to escape the heat of St. George and find the peace of the Kaibab forest. The wind really wanted to take off with my hat. Not only did I not want to lose the hat, but my hair was looking really good about then! The sheik of the Kaibab. View from the fire to...

Made in the Shade: Yankee Meadow-Fall 2010
http://madeintheshadeklp.blogspot.com/2010/10/yankee-meadow-fall-2010.html
Sunday, October 3, 2010. Yankee Meadow in Parowan Canyon is one of our favorite fall places. Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to make my camera show the real intensity of color for it was truly beautiful. We felt lucky to have caught them for we are sometimes too late for Conference Weekend, which is our typical best time to have a free weekend for browsing. Nicole and her fancy camera get into some interesting perches and positions trying to get the best shots. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, August 23, 2009. After the first full week of school, I needed a break! Kent wanted to escape the heat, so we headed off with the WHOLE family to the Kaibab. Grandpa and Grandma McKnight, Marcie and Bob , Bentley and Chloe , Cambria and McKenna, Megan, Rick, Hannah, Seth, MaKaty, and baby Cru, Kent, Lee Ann, and Nicole. 2 big four wheelers, 2 kid size four wheelers, 1 rambler and 2 motorcycles = lots of fun! Kent in front of Nicole's and I's "bedroom". Kent taking a nap in the hammock. LeeAnn, Se...

Made in the Shade: April 2010
http://madeintheshadeklp.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 10, 2010. Today, we had another fun family adventure! This time we headed out near Veyo to what we call the Vortex, or the Whirlpool. It is a fun hike, first through lava rock, then sand, then the slickrock and then to the "hole". It was very windy on top of the highest peak, but otherwise, it was perfect weather for a spring picnic and hike. I much prefer hiking in slickrock than hiking in the sand. It is also so pretty in the spring with the various nooks and crannies full of water.

Made in the Shade: November 2009

Friday, November 20, 2009. 29th "ANGELIC" Anniversary Get Away. For our 29th anniversary, we decided to go back to where we first were SUPPOSED to honeymoon, which was Zion National Park. However, 29 years ago, Kent didn't make reservations, so. we actually stayed in the ever so romantic, Hurricane, Utah! He did this just to freak me out. This section wasn't too scary, but it soon turned to a much steeper drop off. It was a great day and did give me the much needed pick me up! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, July 25, 2009. Pioneer Day- Jacob Lake, Arizona. We celebrated Utah's Pioneer Day (July 24th) by driving the two hours to Jacob Lake, Arizona to fourwheel around all of the old Kaibab logging roads to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a fabulous day- the peace of nature, the cool, fresh air of the mountains, a few refreshing rain drops, 60 miles of four wheeling and beautiful scenery with people you love. We left our house at 7:40 am and returned at 11:15 pm so it was a full, fun day!

Made in the Shade: October 2009

Sunday, October 4, 2009. While it was a bit late, the cool, crisp air felt great and we took our KFC picnic up to Yankee Meadow up Parowan Canyon. While there were some pretty views, we were a bit late. The temperature in St. George was 81, but it was 41 at 3 pm at Cedar Breaks as we continued on up over the mountain to return to St. George. What ate my cat? Hopefully, Lightning doesn't get struck twice! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). MADE IN THE SHADE- Parkinson Family Blog. View my complete profile.
