How can my taxes be so high? The Colorado State Constitution orders the Assessor to revalue all real property every two years. Law mandates taxes are assessed based on the market two years ago. May 1, 2015. Valuation notice is mailed by the Pitkin County Assessor's Office. Protest process begins. APPEAL BY MAIL OR IN PERSON. June 14, 2015. the Assessor must make a decision on your appeal and mail a Notice of Determination to you on or before June 14, 2015. APPEALING THE ASSESSOR'S DECISION.

When you receive your valuation in the mail, if you feel your valuation has increased too much or decreased not enough, email me ed.foran@sir.com. Or call me 970-948-5704. Within one week, I will evaluate your property information for overvaluation. If your property appears overvalued, I can appeal to lower your property taxes. The Agent Authorization form you sign will allow me to represent you at the assessor's office. I will do the research to make the best case possible.
