A Stitch to Wear: October 2009
http://astitchtowear.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 23, 2009. A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Jared and I got together to do a photo shoot for my new batch of Best Friend Beanies. It's the same friend from last Fall's shoot. 1) he actually is. 2) the beanies are unisex, so I like showing them on both a guy and a girl, and. 3) Jared takes good pictures. So clearly there is some boundary there, some quantifiable period of time that changes you from younger-than-you-are to as-old-as-you-are. What is that boundary? And here we are now:.
A Stitch to Wear: November 2008
http://astitchtowear.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Was an amazing night to be in DC. Among other things. I am so in love with my city and my country and my president-elect right now. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Three years ago today, I went on a date with a boy. I was so stomach-clenchingly nervous about this date that I had one beer, paid for it myself, and promptly fled the scene. Fortunately for me, and for reasons I might never understand, that boy kept calling me even after that. Happy electianniversary day to me.

Friday, September 4, 2009. We knit because we love it. You know how they say there's a difference between a "process knitter/crocheter" and a "project knitter/crocheter"? I'm almost 100% project-oriented. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the feeling of the stitches, or having something to do with my hands, or seeing the piece come together as I'm working on it. I love and adore those things. It's just that I only ever pick projects that I want to. On the other side of the personality spectrum is my k...
A Stitch to Wear: October 2008

Friday, October 24, 2008. Zig, baby, Zig. My last design idea for fall is all done and photos are up and everything's listed on Etsy. I have to admit I'm outrageously proud of this one:. It was a pain in the neck to work out the math and the construction on this one, but I knew exactly what I wanted and this came out exactly. Like it was in my head. I'm in love with the yarn I used and the colors and the length and the way the zigzags look next to each other. I'm so pleased. Wednesday, October 22, 2008.
A Stitch to Wear: An ancient art and an ancient language
http://astitchtowear.blogspot.com/2010/06/ancient-art-and-ancient-language.html
Thursday, June 17, 2010. An ancient art and an ancient language. I've spent this past year learning to knit and learning to read Classical Greek. These things (along with wedding plan) certainly keep me occupied. But I was in love. My grandparents had a set of those old, old Berlitz books, one each in German, Russian, French, and Italian, and that's how I would spend my time when we visited. Simple(ish), but of course it's not. You learn a few key words in a language and then you feel like you're off...

Saturday, August 22, 2009. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I cannot wait for the next season to start. Not that we can actually watch a show when it's actually on. But FX.com works for me. And we're only a tiny bit ashamed that this show provides us so much enjoyment. Despite the questionable themes, as recently described by PrincessSara. Our favorite episode is Manhunter. Flight of the Conchords. Mandy Patinkin is quite good and the stories are amusing. I'm allowed to have a 6th here because Arrested...
Zen in Fiber: A Tale of Two Yarns (2KCBW)
http://zenfrost.blogspot.com/2011/03/tale-of-two-yarns-2kcbw.html
Through the work of my own two hands, I search for a moment of calm in this crazy world. Monday, March 28, 2011. A Tale of Two Yarns (2KCBW). Day One: 28th March. A Tale of Two Yarns. Part of any fibre enthusiast’s hobby is an appreciation of yarn. Choose two yarns that you have either used, are in your stash or which you yearn after and capture what it is you love or loathe about them. As an impact, but I don't worry about that too much. I had picked up Debbie Stoller's Happy Hooker book (which I. Blend...
Zen in Fiber: April 2010
http://zenfrost.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Through the work of my own two hands, I search for a moment of calm in this crazy world. Saturday, April 24, 2010. What is it that makes a place a home? I've been pondering this for the past 2 weeks, while I'm in India and very far away from my home outside of Chicago. What is it that I miss? But there's something else about home that I miss. It's intangible and difficult, if not impossible to describe. It's a mysterious, ancient magic that calms and comforts. It's something that's there, but...The offic...

Through the work of my own two hands, I search for a moment of calm in this crazy world. Friday, February 27, 2009. I Did It In Public! Yesterday, I did it in public. It's a way to promote the Midwest Fiber and Folk Art festival and the wonderful crafts that are showcased there. (for more info, check out fiberandfolk.com). Wouldn't his fur make a great sweater? An amigurumi cat made with cat fur yar? I can't wait to Do It In Public! Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Expanding My Blogging Lungs. A Stitch to Wear.

Friday, September 18, 2009. Food of the moment. You know how you sometimes go through these food obsessions or phases where certain recipes are in constant rotation (maybe even despite protests from others in your household)? I didn't realize I did that much until I recently noted that I was whipping up the 3rd batch of white bean dip in 10 days. If you've been following this blog for awhile, you might remember a previous obsession: roasted chick peas. So here are my most recent food-fads:. Newark St....
Zen in Fiber: Feeling Loved
http://zenfrost.blogspot.com/2011/01/feeling-loved.html
Through the work of my own two hands, I search for a moment of calm in this crazy world. Thursday, January 13, 2011. Today is my 7 year anniversary with my husband. My wonderful, awesome husband. I wasn't sure if he would remember. well, he knows the date if you ask him, but he tends to loose track of what day it is, so I wasn't sure he'd realize what today is. But, he did. I walked into my home office and was surprised by this. :D. I'm a lucky woman. Labels: husband photos celebrate anniversary.
Zen in Fiber: June 2009

Through the work of my own two hands, I search for a moment of calm in this crazy world. Monday, June 22, 2009. I know, I know. I'm such a bad blogger. I had this great vision of the awesome blog I would create and all the followers that I'd get. So, I created the blog (back in Feb) and had two great posts (imho). Then, I didn't post again until June. June! How'd it get to be June already? I will post about my crochet projects, including a few designs! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

A Stitch Sublime... In My Spare Time!
A Stitch Sublime. In My Spare Time! Saturday, June 11, 2011. Second Week of Creativity, Day 7-9, a New Hair-do, and a "Recycled" Purse. The calendar prompt for Day 7 was fashion. You know. Too bad it was a work day and we already had plans for the evening! This blog is as much about me being a stylist as it is about me being a seamstress and designer though, so I decided to make the best of my limited time and go with a new hairstyle I saw my sister do for curly hair- and I love how it turned out! I ran ...
