Aston All Saints - Year 1

This term Year One visited Old Moor RSPB Nature Reserve. We had lovely weather for it, and had a great time hunting for bugs, bird watching and pond dipping! John, our guide for the day really looked after us and gave us lots of information about all the creatures that we found! Y1 have been to visit Bolsover Castle to find out what it is like to live in medieval times! We were met by The Archer. The Archer told us lots of stories and facts and he showed us his impressive archery skills.

New spellings to learn will be given out on a Wednesday after the weekly spelling test and numeracy homework will be on Friday. This will need to be completed by the following Friday when we go through it together. Please encourage your child to place their homework folder (containing homework diary, reading book and reading record) in their bag each day to bring to school. It is a good habit to get into. We are enjoying using our new outdoor classroom this term. Take a look. We had a fantastic visit!

Year 5 are well on their way! Our focus for this term is 'Tudor Times'. We have been looking at exactly. The Tudors are. all the past kings and queens of England. learnt about their way of life, their clothing, and it is only the first half term! We have barely even scratched the surface!
