Monday, 10 October 2011. Gossip Wolf is delighted to be working with Astrid Jaekel. Coming from a Fine Art Background in Germany, Astrid has now become an illustrator, cutting up large bits of black paper which are then installed and illuminated in windows throughout the Edinburgh city centre. Her work involves traditional German folklore but also more contemporary themes as last seen in her window work on Victoria Street which was on display during the Festival. I realised how nice it actually is to draw plants in glasshouses. You don’t have to sit on the ground to get the view of the whole plant because it grows on eye level.
