The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293 / C63). NGC 7293 (Caldwell 63), the Helix Nebula, is a planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius. Located at a distance of approximately 700 light years. The central star, which is nearing the end of its stellar evolution, expelled its outer shell of gas forming the nebula. The remainder of the star's core will become a white dwarf star. NGC7009 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius. As with all planetary nebulae, it's the remnant of a red giant star which has ejected its outer gaseous shell leaving behind a hot, dense, white-dwarf star. It has been estimated that 95% of all stars, including our Sun, will end their lives in this way. NGC7009 has an estimated distance of 3,900 light years and an apparent diameter of 36". Is a a compilation of astronomy timelapses that I've shot over the past few years.
