Travising the Asian Continent and beyond. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Ankara to Istanbul: No seagulls to seagulls. I'm loving Istanbul and so happy to be here, but, there are still adjustments with a new roommate (who is really lovely and very intelligent), new area, culture, and a lot of free time. In addition, there is the neighborhood. Very quiet, with expats and Turks alike. My greatest challenge has been with the wildlife which I wrote about in a very short essay. Notes from the Field of Francesca.

Travising the Asian Continent and beyond. Thursday, January 10, 2013. The past year has been filled with challenges beyond my tolerance. But here I am and I am told that I adjust and assimilate well to change. I don't know if that's true but I do feel better adjusted here in Taipei than I have in other Asian countries. Of late, I have acquired some very interesting students that have made teaching here a treat. I feel at such ease when speaking with my Taiwanese students. In general I find them to be...

Travising the Asian Continent and beyond. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. While I adored her individuality and non-conformity, it was hard to watch the social awkwardness that would leave her home many weekends without any friends to spend time with.
