ZIATZUOM: Mt. Blackburn 2014 | Atalkata

https://atalkata.wordpress.com/2014/06/13/ziatzuom-mt-blackburn-2014

Two brothers expatiate [wander intellectually without restraint]. ZIATZUOM: Mt. Blackburn 2014. 8220;The sky is called empty, the earth is called still; to be thus is invincibility.” -Guanzi. 6/11/14 McCarthy AK 5:30 AM came cold, cold, and still after a night of tent-shoveling. A clearing. We scramble into boots, and Bennett is behind as anchor as I struggle through thigh deep new snow towards the edge. The route! More Pictures: https:/ flic.kr/s/aHsjYf9B8x. The Jostling Roar of Rickshaw and Spirit | Atalkata

Two brothers expatiate [wander intellectually without restraint]. The Jostling Roar of Rickshaw and Spirit. Rain thunder astounds. We are in the jungle. The green aliveness closed in on the road as a smothering sound. The children dance, laugh, wave, and yell their “Hello Mister”‘s everywhere in Sumatra. By Scott Hamilton Peters on October 24, 2012. The Himalayan Hum of At-one-ment | Atalkata

https://atalkata.wordpress.com/2012/11/21/the-himalayan-hum-of-at-one-ment

Two brothers expatiate [wander intellectually without restraint]. The Himalayan Hum of At-one-ment. Day 3-4 Tengboche monastery. Perched in the top of a juniper tree, the cymbals and repetitive horn blasts rose up, seemingly amplified by the surrounding alpenglow peaks. A moment that strikes at innermost being, unreal and actual. Day 6 Chukhung Ri 5,550m [18,315ft]. A massive piece of hanging glacier on the Nupste face across from my perch cracked off the billowing clouds and waterfall-like snow pummeled...

Two brothers expatiate [wander intellectually without restraint]. Alaska Mountain Wilderness Ski Classic. Photos: http:/ flic.kr/s/aHsjEDedjF. 8220;Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.” -Steven Wright. This was all post Golden Horn, the terrible day long brush and ravine challenge slog above Skolai Creek. I would like to thank organizer Dave Cramer for his dedication and unsurpassed hospitality and Log Cabin Wilderness Lodge for the copious finish line comfort and food.

Sand In My Sprockets: AZ >>> NM

http://sandinmysprockets.blogspot.com/2010/04/az-nm.html

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Mormons watched me, the sky amazed me, hills daunted me, and storms chased me. But I made it across the state line into New Mexico, and over the continental divide. Silver City, NM offered a shower-the first in five days- and great people. Big ups to Gila Hike and Bike and Silver City Co-Op! Gotta run though. Emory Pass. April 22, 2010 at 7:45 AM. April 22, 2010 at 10:16 AM. April 23, 2010 at 12:01 AM.

Sand In My Sprockets: Southward! And Kind of Downhill

http://sandinmysprockets.blogspot.com/2010/04/southward-and-kind-of-downhill.html

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Saturday, April 17, 2010. And Kind of Downhill. Rolled out of Flafstaff, full of pancakes and coffee. Pedaled across the Mogollon Plateau, then dropped into the Tonto Basin. Camped near Lake Roosevelt after a nice swim last night. Was in the range land, so had to scare off some cows from my campsite. Probably wanted my cheesey rice, broccoli and tuna. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Weak in the tweak. And Kind of Downhill.

Sand In My Sprockets: April 2010

http://sandinmysprockets.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Friday, April 30, 2010. We camped out in Guadalupe Mountains National Park that night. Still had 30- to 40- mph winds, so I had to put big rocks inside of my tent to keep it on the ground. Even then, it was folded over on top of me for most of the night. Very relaxing. We then toured Carlsbad Caverns the next day. It was not windy in the caves. Sunrise and storms on the Guadalupes and cave features. Thursday, April 29, 2010.

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Thursday, May 13, 2010. El Paso Austin Seattle! So Texas was not so bad. After Carlsbad Caverns, Dean and I headed to Ft. Davis, past the storm and wind, for good riding in the hills there, as well as a tour of the McDonald Observatory. I ended up with around 1,300 or so miles (had some trouble with my cyclometer), only two flat tires, no crashes, a sweet farmer-tan, and a big smile on my face. Eastern Washington from the pl...

Sand In My Sprockets: The Desert is HOT!!

http://sandinmysprockets.blogspot.com/2010/04/desert-is-hot.html

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The Desert is HOT! In stark contrast to the cold, wet weather of northern California, SoCal was warm and arid. Temps were in the 80's and 90's, but didn't actually seem too hot. I hear it's the humidity, not the heat, or something. It took three days to cross California, sleeping near Lake Cuyamaca. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Weak in the tweak. New Mexico. Also Hilly. And Kind of Downhill.

Sand In My Sprockets: New Mexico... Also Hilly

http://sandinmysprockets.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-mexico-also-hilly.html

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Thursday, April 29, 2010. New Mexico. Also Hilly. After a night camping next to a little river, I pedaled on to Las Cruces, a downhill ride of around 80 miles. Unluckily for me, and strong wind was blowing out of the south, and for much of that ride my max speed was only 10 to 12 mph. With many stories from her three months on the road so far. April 29, 2010 at 4:13 PM. Whats your rig, and how is it going mechanically?

Talkin' Hockey

We've got a lot of guys here! Tuesday, March 25, 2008. So now we're three points out of the playoffs, and we just laid an old-style beat down on the Minnesota Wild. Gagner is starting to look like the real deal. 'Bout time. Matt Greene is starting to look a bit like the future captain I proclaimed him to be. We don't suck. That bad. Monday, January 14, 2008. I read the Cult Of Hockey. He's been using a statistic of his own invention, the "error", which is based on which players were most responsible for ...

A Talkin' Donkey: RaisingCayne's Random Ramblings

A Talkin' Donkey: RaisingCayne's Random Ramblings. Friday, October 17, 2008. So yesterday afternoon I got a text message from Matt. Inviting me to join him at a local casino's weekly Thursday evening deepstack poker tournament. Being intrigued, I promptly inquire with the roommate. About his interest, and we quickly decide that we're down to take part. Call Matt. Well, fast forward a few hours, and . I won! Took down 1st place out of 29 entrants for a $615 score on the $60 buy-in! An angry earful about h...

Between the two of us

Between the two of us. Thursday, November 20, 2008. The Lord will be your husband. And this verse just filled my heart:. For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth. - Isaiah 54:5. How lovely is the Lord our God, He is really the sweetest. Who could have expected this? The morning encounter gave me great comfort and convicted me to just press into His love while I am alone these few days. In a time l...
