Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Wizard of Oz Door Contest. Last week, we had a Wizard of Oz door contest. We had a blast decorating our door and seeing all of the other creative ideas that other teachers came up with! This is an idea we had towards the end, but ran out of time. It didn't turn out how we would have liked. A couple of teachers wanted to see our flying monkeys. Here they are! I wish I could say that my classroom is blessed with a professional artist! It has been one of my favorite go to websites for help with the state standards and for ideas! It's the Teacher's Toolkit! I love this page! Each tab you click on has helpful videos, articles, websites, and ways to apply these in the classroom. The math section is set up in a similar manner. I hope you all get some helpful ideas from this website!

I had to clean house and run to Walmart yesterday for a few classroom items, but for the most part it was restful! I'm looking forward to our typical Sunday of church and spending time with family! Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Friday my school had a teacher in-service day. We were fortunate to have a woman come in and talk to us from CAPTAIN. Power cards, have you heard of them? Power Cards are a tool for helping a child to change an unwanted, inappropriate behavior by capitalizing on an interest, person or character that has special meaning for the child.".
