My 2GB Linode Apache Prefork Settings. For quite a while, I was running into an issue where Apache would, quite often, run out of memory and restart. This server is running a handful (11 total) of very small, very low-traffic sites, most of which are just PHP. One or two are using MySQL. I’d receive alerts from Linode that my server “exceeded the notification threshold (1000) for disk io rate”. StartServers 4 MinSpareServers 3 MaxSpareServers 12 ServerLimit 20 MaxClients 20 MaxRequestsPerChild 5000.
