A Thing for Poetry: Poetry, Left and Right
http://athingforpoetry.blogspot.com/2016/10/poetry-left-and-right.html
A Thing for Poetry. Monday, October 24, 2016. Poetry, Left and Right. Recently, my contributor copy of the New Boots and Pantisocracies. Anthology plopped through my letter-box. It is a good-looking book, with many startling poems by some of the best contemporary British poets, engaging in sometimes angry, sometimes oblique fashion with the outcome of the 2015 general election; an election which, as we all know, has had untold ramifications, setting the country on the path to Brexit. Words on the Side.
A Thing for Poetry: True confessions
http://athingforpoetry.blogspot.com/2016/12/true-confessions.html
A Thing for Poetry. Saturday, December 3, 2016. I have recently been reading the work of Danish poet Yahya Hassan, the son of Palestinian refugees, who was jailed in September over the shooting of a 17-year-old boy. Hassan has been a literary sensation in Denmark, selling over 100,000 copies of his book (there's currently no English translation of his work that I am aware of, so I am relying on the German version here). A Thing for Poetry: New Year, New Poetry!
http://athingforpoetry.blogspot.com/2017/01/new-year-new-poetry.html
A Thing for Poetry. Tuesday, January 10, 2017. New Year, New Poetry! A belated Happy New Year! I've been very pleased recently to have a number of people speak to me about this blog and about the posts they've enjoyed reading here. I hope in 2017 there will be more thoughts about poetry to share with you, and perhaps not quite as much posting about my own activities, which I will try to confine as much as possible to social media (I'm @davidcchelt. On Twitter, by the way.). New Year, New Poetry! Penned i...

http://athingforpoetry.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
A Thing for Poetry. Saturday, October 29, 2016. Guest Poet - Stewart Carswell. This year and they were so enthusiastic about this work that they have now published his first pamphlet, Knots and Branches. Which reflects both Stewart’s interest in the natural world and his strong sense of place. Stewart has kindly agreed for me to publish the poem ‘Instructions for Winter’ here, with the following words of his own commentary. Stewart writes:. It's the same with poetry, I try and communicate my observations...

A Thing for Life
Contact / Hire Us. Wednesday, 1 June 2016. Ive been going through some kind of funk and havent been inspired to cook that much (besides the vital meals, of course). Recently, though, with Facebook showing what other people like in my dashboard, I stumbled across a very cool page called Tasty. They share tons of interesting recipes, both as video and links, and one of them caught my attention. And this is how my MINI PIZZA BITES came to be! Wednesday, 18 May 2016. All the Jadu Tea products I was sent.

A Thing for Paper
A Thing for Paper. Friday, March 10, 2017. There's something about the look of Celtic knotwork that I just love, so it's no surprise that I've incorporated that look into a few St. Patrick's Day paper projects. First is this card which I adapted from the Celtic Charm kit. From Bird's SVGs. I used the Celtic Hounds card for the base of my project, but used one of the Celtic Cross stencils from the Celtic Stencil kit. To add a glittery centerpiece. Have you signed up for Bird's newsletter? There are these ...
A Thing For Pink
A Thing For Pink. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Art Journal Backgrounds and Caran d'Ache Love. I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out overall. Isn't it funny how some of our 'experiments' turn out to be better than our 'planned' techniques? If you'd like to have a look. Do any of you use these crayons, or have a special technique to share? If so feel free to leave your link below so we can all check it out. Until next time, happy creating! Sunday, May 16, 2010. The Benefits of Journaling. One of t...

A Thing for Roses
A Thing for Roses. Monday, August 26, 2013. Change is Good/A New Name. After thinking a long time, I decided to change my business name to Pretty Old Things. Still love me some roses, but the new name goes with both of the Cottage and Vintage Neutrals styles I have in my two booths at Monticello Antiques and Stars Antiques. Working on setting up a new blog. Seems I have forgotten quite a lot since setting up this one several years ago. In the meantime, you can follow along on my Facebook page. Thought it...

A Thing for Sewing
Tuesday, 1 November 2011. I finally got to see the Tasmanian Swan Lake ballet in Burnie last week. I really appreciate the effort that goes into this sort of dancing, but I think the costumes fascinate me just as much:. Sunday, 30 October 2011. When I got to the Dog's Home. This morning, Shandy. Was being test driven by a couple, so let's hope they like her enough to take her home. And Tibby. Monday, 24 October 2011. Dog of The Week. Sunday, 23 October 2011. Sunday, 16 October 2011. From the dog's home.
