ummashin: JOY shawlette
http://ummashin.blogspot.com/2014/09/joy-shawlette.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. Raise your hand if you've experienced love at first sight.with a skein of yarn. That eye candy yarn that you just HAD to have. Then keep your hand up if that skein of yarn is still languishing away in a box in the closet or on the shelf. Poor yarn! I had a couple of these types of skeins and so I wrote a pattern for them, and I'd like to share that with you! JOY is a worsted-weight shawlette with plenty of visual interest that's also fun to knit. Love, Hannah AKA ummashin.

Monday, May 19, 2014. Like my new sweater? The pattern is Antrorse. And is part of the JOURNEY collection/collaboration. The pattern is by Shannon Cook. Like all of Shannon's patterns, the instructions are clear and incorporates classic sensibility with modern twists. I highly recommend this pattern! I finished this a while ago, but it took me a while to photograph it. Mostly because it's been beastly hot and today was the first day I could stand to wear the sweater for more than five minutes.

Our Montessori Story: June 2009
http://montessoristory.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
The adventures of our home-based Montessori (& more) school. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. I recently posted about wanting to make sight word. Drawers for my oldest daughter. I consider sight words to be those peculiar words in the English language that cannot be sounded out phonetically and must be memorized (in other words, recognized on "sight"), such as one, two, once, what, the, etc. I did some research into sight words, and I kept coming across the Dolch. Word list, which is a list of the 220 words.

ummashin: BECCA
http://ummashin.blogspot.com/2015/01/becca_26.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. I've been in a fog for, well, months really. Even the holidays went by fairly unceremoniously due to sickness of one family member or another. Now it's time to get healthy, get out of the funk, and be productive! Speaking of productive, here is Becca. My latest hat pattern. Yarn: Knitpicks Wool of the Andes. This hat ("toque" if you live north of he-ah) is an easy knit that requires little effort to achieve great looking results. Becca, the happy Northerner of Nook.

ummashin: June 2013

Saturday, June 22, 2013. Summer is finally here, and I finally had time to reunite with my Janome. I had to literally. Dust her off poor thing. Using Shannon's nifty FREE. Reversible project bag tutorial. I finally made myself a project bag. The pattern is so clearly written and was a great way to get my sewing legs back. I used the same fabric for the whole bag, but I don't think it diminished the cuteness factor at all! This random calico print reminds me of Little House on the Prairie. Slightly embarr...

Monday, February 2, 2015. Lets celebrate the weekend being over together with a new pattern shall we! I'd say this week's off to a great start. Is a chunky knitted hat (toque.ha! Featuring squishy ribbed cables and a touch of lace. If you're going to knit with acrylic, this is the good stuff! Requisite weird looking-off-into-the-distance photo. Fellow piggy and yarn-o-phile. I'll just say I'm lucky to call you a pal. You're an inspiration and I can't wait to nosh and knit together. xo. Los Angeles, CA.
