Running, my second job and passion. Except for a very few Kenyans working extremely hard, it's impossible to make a living out of running. So better be a second job, and a passion! Sharing a few personal notes on my journey in endurance running and ultra running. To meet you on the web if not on the road. Happy trails to all, farther and faster! Sunday, May 10, 2015. QuickSilver 100K 2015: very mixed feelings. Paul Terranova is also an elite ultra runner who became a Masters last year. He won the Mas...

Tri+Umph: May 2008
http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 4, 2008. I finally got my fix. Oh yes, I got my fix! After about two weeks off (not counting last Sunday's 1/4 mile swim), going back at it felt AMAZING! After being pretty much shut down for that long, nothing can quite describe how pumped up I am right now, so I'm not even going to try. Since I've been a bad blogger lately, here's a summary:. Exercises for my knee are a go. I don't have a care in the world. I'M GOING TO HAWAII IN SIX DAYS! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tri+Umph: January 2009
http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. Whoops, forgot to post an update yesterday so I'll just do a double today. Or perpetually be a day behind. Nothing else big going on. Just doing what the doctor says to do and sleeping a lot. Links to this post. Thursday, January 29, 2009. Bending my knee hurts pretty bad today, even with the Vicodin, but I've been through worse pain in the past. I can't complain too much given the circumstances. And to end on a good note, my mom made cake! Links to this post. As predicted, I ...

Tri+Umph: Day Three
http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2009/01/day-three.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. Whoops, forgot to post an update yesterday so I'll just do a double today. Or perpetually be a day behind. Nothing else big going on. Just doing what the doctor says to do and sleeping a lot. Glad to hear things are improving! Do you know how long you're going to have a cast on? With the garbage bag I always found it easier to prop my leg up on the tub to bathe and then washed my hair in the sink. :P. January 31, 2009 at 11:57 PM. Sounds good so far Doug! I used to be a runner...

Tri+Umph: "Poster Child"
http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2009/02/poster-child.html
Monday, February 2, 2009. That's what the physical therapist said. Apparently a combination of the surgery going well and me doing what I was told lead to my knee looking damn good just five days after surgery. The PT couldn't remember seeing a knee with absolutely no swelling this quick before. He actually measured it vs. my other knee, and they were exactly the same. Awesome, that's good to hear! February 2, 2009 at 7:14 PM. Dude, you are going to heal like a champ! February 7, 2009 at 8:02 AM. PT is h...

http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 16, 2009. And what is he doing writing a blog? He doesn't do that. Ever. Will the post every six months trend continue? Who knows. Time will tell. This last semester was a rough one with surgery, PT, and what not so I'm looking at one more fairly easy semester to wrap things up in grad school; not the end of the world by any means, so I'm making the best of it. Also, I have a new friend. His name is Comet. He's my 8 week old border collie that I brought home this Tuesday. And h...I used to...

Tri+Umph: September 2008
http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Who the heck is this guy? Does anybody ever check this anymore? What's he doing posting on his blog? Well, I'll tell you where I went. A few months ago I told myself I wasn't going to post about anything pessimistic. Maybe I'm breaking that rule now, but a few people caught me on Facebook so I thought I'd let you all know how I'm doing. Here goes. Regardless of how poorly the running front has been, the Zafra quote to the right are still words to live by. Links to this post.

http://endorphiend.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. Weekly Recap 03/24/08 - 03/30/08. Monday: Swam a mile before class, including 600 yards nonstop - a new best, but not for long! Ab workout in the evening. Tuesday: Swam a mile with TNT. I was going to go farther but dinner was making a comeback and I've heard they don't like it when you throw up in the pool. Wednesday: Swam a mile on my own, including 1000 yards nonstop - a new best, but not for long! Ab workout in the evening. I felt fresh again after several days off. For some r...
