INSULAR ECOLOGY AND CONSERVATION. Postgraduate course of 15 hours. The course consist on five informatics laboratories implemented under the ecological simulation program Ecobeaker. This software is a tool for teaching basic ecological concepts using a spatially-explicit framework. One of the more popular laboratories, the Galapagos finch, reproduce the research of Peter and Rosemary Grant, whose results were explained in the Jonathan Weiner book “The beak of the finch”.
